A new Masdar wind project in Egypt? <\/strong>Egypt\u2019s Electricity ministry is reportedly set to sign an agreement with state-run renewables giant Masdar for a 200 MW wind farm, an Egyptian government source told EnterpriseAM. The project has an investment ticket of USD 180 mn.<\/p>\n

The details:<\/strong> The project will be developed under a build-own-operate model, with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) set to be the offtaker of the generated electricity throughout the project\u2019s lifetime. EETC is currently reviewing the final terms of the agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s next? <\/strong>Madar is currently working with a number of unnamed banks to submit a financial proposal within a month, the source added. A meeting will also be held in the upcoming weeks to discuss the plans for different phases of the project.<\/p>\n

Masdar ? Egypt: <\/strong>An Infinity Power-Hassan Allam Utilities-Masdar consortium reportedly received the land<\/a> for their USD 11 bn, 10 GW wind farm project in Sohag in in July. The consortium is expected to reach financial close and break ground on Egypt\u2019s largest wind energy project \u2014 which is also set to be one of the largest wind farms globally and the largest in Africa \u2014 in March 2026.
