Slated for development over the next three years, the PPPs will span ten sectors, including water and sanitation, waste management, housing, healthcare, and public transportation, geared towards improving the quality of life in the emirate, Ahli said. <\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Background: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/afce82f0-911c-4204-b840-fc95a5cfa51d\/dubai-approves-aed-40-bn-ppps#:~:text=%231%2D%20Dubai%20has,disclosing%20further%20details.\" rel=\"noopener\">Last March<\/a><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">, Dubai greenlit the AED 40 bn PPP projects, covering \u201cten fundamental economic sectors.\u201d The projects received approval during the first meeting of Dubai Executive Council since its re-establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The breakdown: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some <strong>AED 25.5 bn<\/strong> of the projects will be focused on the <strong>water and sanitation sector<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>AED 5.3 bn <\/strong>of the projects will be in the<strong> waste management<\/strong> sector;<\/li>\n<li>Projects for the <strong>arts and culture<\/strong> sector will have a budget of <strong>AED 2.8 bn;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>AED 2.3 bn<\/strong> has been earmarked for <strong>housing<\/strong> projects;<\/li>\n<li><strong>AED 1.5 bn<\/strong> was earmarked for the <strong>healthcare<\/strong> sector;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Public transportation and urban development<\/strong> will have a total budget of <strong>AED 1.5 bn<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>AED 648 mn<\/strong> will be allocated to roads and parking facilities;<\/li>\n<li>and <strong>AED 540 mn<\/strong> will go towards public amenities, gardens, and services. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>DP3 to oversee the projects: <\/strong>The department has set up a platform for tracking and managing the PPP projects, dubbed <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mediaoffice.ae\/en\/news\/2023\/October\/18-10\/DOF-launches-innovative-Digital-Platform-to-manage-Public-Private-Partnerships\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">DP3<\/a>.
