Global law firm Baker McKenzie<\/strong> has relocated partner James Burdett<\/strong> (LinkedIn<\/a>) from <\/strong>London to Abu Dhabi<\/strong>, <\/strong>as the firm looks to expand and improve its services for MENA-based investment funds and private equity firms, according to a press release (pdf)<\/a>. Burdett, who led the firm\u2019s London investments funds group for almost 20 years, will join the firm\u2019s UAE team starting 1 April. <\/p>\n

The move comes as Baker McKenzie looks to keep pace with the \u201cincreasing activity in the region<\/strong> amongst our institutional and sponsor clients, alongside a growing appetite for expanding their investment remit globally, and into ever-more complex [transactions],\u201d Burdett said.<\/p>\n
