Economists now reckon the Fed rate cut to come in June: <\/strong>A slim majority ofeconomists \u2014 53 out of 104 \u2014 polled by Reuters<\/a> expect the US Federal Reserve to start cutting interest rates in June, with another 33 forecasting a May cut. <\/p>\n

This is more or less in line with what the newswire\u2019s surveys have been saying since<\/strong> September<\/strong>, projecting the Fed to ease its monetary policy around the middle of this year. <\/p>\n

ICYMI: <\/strong>Fed officials have recently been doubling down<\/a> on the need to see a strong indication of inflation cooling down before they deciding to start cutting rates.<\/p>\n

MEANWHILE- Asian markets are in early trading this morning<\/strong>, tracking yesterday\u2019s decline on Wall Street as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed in the red, dragged down by tech stocks. Major benchmarks in Europe look set to open in the red later this morning, and futures suggest a weak open on Wall Street. <\/p>\n

In the red: <\/strong>Takaful Emarat (-9.9%), Al Firdous Holdings (-6.0%) and Dubai Islamic Ins. and Reinsurance (-2.0%). <\/p>\n

Over on the ADX<\/strong>, the index fell 0.1% on turnover of AED 1 bn. Meanwhile, Nasdaq Dubai closed down 0.2%.<\/p>\n
