The UAE is expected to come in second in the region in terms of volume of IPOs, after Saudi Arabia, which is expected to see 19 listings, Ernst & Young said. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Who might debut this year? <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supermarket chain <strong>Spinneys Dubai<\/strong> is reportedly planning to list up to 30% of its shares on DFM in 2Q 2024, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/deals\/supermarket-franchisee-spinneys-dubai-plans-ipo-2024-2023-09-24\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reported last year; <\/li>\n<li>Supermarket operator <strong>LuLu Group International<\/strong> is looking <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/03d1a1ba-d94b-4ddd-8743-ee41a54f980b#:~:text=BUT%20FIRST%2D,the%20company%E2%80%99s%20plans.\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">to appoint bankers<\/a> for a potential USD 1 bn dual listing on the ADX and Riyadh\u2019s Tadawul in 2H 2024; <\/li>\n<li>Dubai\u2019s <strong>Road and Transport Authority (RTA)<\/strong> could list its recently formed car parking space manager, <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/cb7f10c6-5980-4bce-967e-c5e41390f92c\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Parkin<\/a><\/strong>, following the AED 1.2 bn IPO of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2023\/11\/1671.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Dubai Taxi<\/a> on DFM in December; <\/li>\n<li>Dubai-based healthcare investment and education firm <strong>Amanat Holdings<\/strong> tapped EFG Hermes and First Abu Dhabi Bank for a listing of its healthcare unit as soon as this year, potentially raising some USD 200 mn; <\/li>\n<li>Dubai-based shisha producer <strong>Advanced Inhalation Rituals<\/strong> reportedly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-08-09\/shisha-firm-air-said-to-hire-citigroup-morgan-stanley-for-ipo\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">appointed<\/a> Citigroup and Morgan Stanley to advise on its IPO, slated for this year, which could raise some USD 800 mn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The Emirates led the region in terms of IPO proceeds last year<\/strong>, accounting for more than half of proceeds, with eight listings raising a collective USD 6.1 bn. Among the largest IPOs: Adnoc Gas, which raised USD 2.5 bn, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/edition\/am\/ed41bd36-47ad-4753-8479-3d637c185543\/Global%20Stocktake%20draft%20adopted%20at%20COP28#:~:text=healthcare%20giant%20purehealth%E2%80%99s%20aed%203.62%20bn%20ipo%20closed%20with%20over%20aed%20265%20bn%20in%20orders%2C%20according%20to%20a%20press%20release.%20the%20institutional%20portion%20of%20the%20offering%20was%2049x%20oversubscribed%2C%20while%20the%20retail%20portion%20closed%20on%20monday%20at%20a%20483x%20oversubscription%20rate.\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">PureHealth<\/a>, which raised USD 987 mn; and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.investcorp.com\/announcement-of-final-offer-price-and-successful-conclusion-of-bookbuilding-process\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Investcorp Capital<\/a>, which raised USD 451 mn. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The Middle East saw 48 IPOs last year: <\/strong>Stock markets in the region saw 48 companies listtheir shares in 2023, with proceeds amounting to USD 10.7 bn \u2014 marking a 51% y-o-y decline in proceeds. Energy and logistics companies\u2019 IPOs accounted for more than half of that, with just five IPOs in those sectors raising a combined USD 7.83 bn last year. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Looking ahead:<\/strong>Despite the current geopolitical situation in the region, Ernst & Young\u2019s forecast of the region\u2019s IPO market is bright, with some 29 private companies and 26 funds across various sectors expected to IPO during the year, including from KSA, Egypt, and Kuwait, E&Y said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">THE GLOBAL ANGLE- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Global IPO proceeds tumbled 33% y-o-y in 2023 to USD 123.2 bn<\/strong>, while the volume of IPOsalso fell 8% y-o-y to 1,415 IPOs in total amid monetary tightening, and worsening economic conditions in China according to the report. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>\u201cEnthusiasm for IPOs is high\u201d in 2024<\/strong><strong>amid expectations of interest rate cuts and <\/strong><strong>moderating inflation<\/strong>, the report said.
