UAE medical services giant acquires UK's Prometheus for unified defense and <\/strong>energy health solutions: <\/strong>ADX-listed pre-hospital medical services company Response Plus Medical (RPM)<\/a> acquired UK-based medical risk management company Prometheus Medical<\/a> to form a global healthcare platform for energy and defense companies, according to a press release (pdf)<\/a>. The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.<\/p>\n

The acquisition expands RPM\u2019s medical coverage to global oil and defense giants<\/strong> like Shell, Chevron, and other oil companies, as well as the UK\u2019s military, Royal Flight of Oman, and the UK Security, Defense, and NHS emergency services, all of which were previously serviced by Prometheus. The move has also significantly grown RPM\u2019s medical fleet, accelerating the company\u2019s entry into the UK and Nordic region. RPM will also distribute trauma care and simulation products from Safeguard Medical, Prometheus\u2019 parent company, in the GCC and India.<\/p>\n

What else will the company do? <\/strong>The new entity will provide emergency consulting and training services, remote and emergency health services as well as VIP medical coverage, the press release said.<\/p>\n

The funding:<\/strong> RPM will fund the acquisition through a combination of debt financing and internal capital.<\/p>\n

More on RPM:<\/strong> Established in 2010, RPM is the largest pre-hospital medical services provider in the UAE and KSA, with locations across Oman, India and Ethiopia.
