Aldar Properties is partnering with Yellow Door Energy to power 45 of Aldar\u2019s properties with 34 <\/strong>MW of solar energy<\/strong>, Wam<\/a> reported. Yellow Door Energy will handle the construction, logistics, operations, and maintenance of the systems across the entirety of Aldar\u2019s assets for the next two decades.<\/p>\n

Aldar\u2019s solar shift: <\/strong>Aldar has been embracing solar power as part of its Net Zero Plan, launched earlier this year to eliminate 560k tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2050. The average clean energy consumption across Aldar's entire portfolio is set to rise by 12%. <\/p>\n

Masdar and the US are eyeing MENA, Africa, and Central <\/strong>Asia\u2019s renewables market: <\/strong>State-owned renewable energy developer Masdar has signed an agreement with the US International Development Finance Corporation to explore renewables projects that can be funded across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia, the company said<\/a>. The launch date of the project and how much each side plans to allocate were not disclosed. The Emirati and US governments launched their Partnership for Accelerating Clean Energy (PACE) back in November<\/a>, aiming to jointly channel USD 100 bn for clean energy and carbon management projects, including carbon capture and storage and direct air capture ventures, by 2035.<\/p>\n

The details: <\/strong>The aluminum smelting and repurposing plant will span 100k sq meters and be leased for 50 years by KEZAD Group. The facility will source raw materials from its neighbor, Emirates Global Aluminium, to convert virgin aluminum and aluminum waste into high-quality reusable metal products, cutting back on operational costs alongside emissions, whilst also aligning with Abu Dhabi's environmental goals.<\/p>\n

EHang moves into Abu Dhabi\u2019s SAVI cluster:<\/strong> Chinese eVtol outfit EHang<\/a> has partnered with Wings Logistics Hub<\/a>, the eVtol-focused subsidiary of UAE investor EIH Ethmar International<\/a>, to roll out Ehang\u2019s autonomous eVtol aircraft in the UAE, according to a statement<\/a>. The partnership will see Ehang move into Abu Dhabi\u2019s Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) Cluster<\/a> and coordinate with Wing Logistics Hub to streamline certification and operations of its EH216 series eVTOLs in the UAE. Wing Logistics plans to purchase up to 100 EH216 units from Ehang with variants for aerial logistics, transport, and firefighting. Deliveries are set to commence in the 1Q 2024, the statement said.<\/p>\n
