The tanker was safe with no reported injuries<\/strong>, but the UAE accused Iran of what it says was an unprovoked \u201cterrorist attack\u201d and demanded it halt all hostilities.<\/p>\n Later, there were <\/strong>reports of a fire erupting at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone<\/a><\/strong> and the UAE <\/strong>said<\/a><\/strong> it intercepted three cruise missiles from Iran <\/strong>while a fourth fell into the sea.<\/p>\n The attacks seemed out of the blue<\/strong>, with things remaining calm across the Gulf over the past three weeks since the ceasefire was announced.<\/p>\n But\u2026 they weren\u2019t completely: <\/strong>Before the reported attacks, US President Donald Trump had said US troops would guide stranded ships out of the strait, after which Iran\u2019s navy claimed it blocked US ships from entering Hormuz and threatened to attack any US forces breaking its blockade. Iran also said two missiles<\/a> hit a US vessel, though US Central Command denied any strike.<\/p>\n Iran seems to be targeting every oil export route the UAE has. <\/strong>The Strait remains blocked, and now the Fujairah pipeline, which has been carrying out half of the UAE\u2019s output since the war began, is likely compromised.<\/p>\n And now\u2026 the question on everyone\u2019s mind: What\u2019s next? <\/strong>We\u2019re keeping an eye out for news out of the UAE or the US on a potential response to the attack.<\/p>\n Not a response but \u2026 <\/strong>last night, the US said it sank several small Iranian boats<\/a> and shot down missiles and drones launched from Iran as it pushed to open up the strait through its so-called Project Freedom.<\/p>\n It remains unclear what this means for peace negotiations<\/strong>, but it appears that they\u2019re still on track. \u201cAs talks are making progress with Pakistan's gracious effort, the US should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE,\u201d Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister said on X<\/a> earlier this morning.<\/p>\n Sc<\/strong>hools and nurserie<\/strong>s are going remote until the end of the week<\/strong> \u201cto ensure the safety and wellbeing of the educational community,\u201d the Education Ministry said in a post on X<\/a>, adding that it may extend the directive if necessary.
