Transport fared worse, with revenue sliding 42% to AED 44 mn and net income almost disappearing (down 97%), reflecting scaled-back taxi operations and weaker limousine demand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Catering kept things steady<\/strong>, with the segment\u2019s revenue rising 13% y-o-y to AED 464 mn, supported by acquisitions and long-term contracts that held up through the volatility. But higher input costs and supply chain pressure pushed EBITDA down 15% to AED 51 mn and cut net income by 20% to AED 31 mn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The company is implementing \u201cimmediate cost-containment and [liquidity] preservation measures<\/strong> in response to regional uncertainty and declining business activity,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER- <\/strong>The war could wipe out <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/04\/09\/this-morning-is-dp-world-eyeing-a-usd-13-2-bn-stake-in-uks-largest-port-operator-1-in-eight-brits-have-left-the-uae-_storytags_-dp-world-defense-tourism-india-uae-relations\/\" style=\"\">USD 13-32<\/a> bn in GCC tourism revenues. Forecasts indicate inbound arrivals to the region could shrink by as much as <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/03\/04\/uaes-tourisms-usd-70-bn-boom-hit-as-middle-east-conflict-sparks-cancellations\/\" style=\"\">27% y-o-y this year<\/a>, after the UAE clocked 8.5k holiday rental cancellations on the day the conflict erupted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Authorities are already stepping in to cushion the blow<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/03\/31\/dubai-is-offering-financial-stimulus-for-tourism-art-and-more\/\" style=\"\">as we\u2019ve previously reported<\/a>. Dubai rolled out a AED 1 bn support package, including deferrals of sales fees and AED tourism payments, while Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri said earlier this month that a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/04\/07\/another-support-package-for-smes-rak-developer-pushes-ahead-with-dubai-expansion-and-kezad-sees-new-projects\/\" style=\"\">sector-specific support package<\/a> is in the works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Rakbank sees an all-time high net income<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" id=\"id.g6lhnewg4kkz\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The picture is still solid at Ra<\/strong><strong>kbank<\/strong>, whose net income jumped 43% y-o-y to a record AED 1 bn in 1Q 2026, according to an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2026\/4\/1020.pdf\" style=\"\">earnings release (pdf)<\/a>. The bottom-line uptick was largely driven by a AED 473 mn gain on the sale of its merchant acquiring business <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/03\/24\/borouge-control-locks-in-ahead-of-merger-finish-line-talabat-picks-up-rent-rakbank-and-network-international-finalize-agreement\/\" style=\"\">to Network International<\/a>, along with strong operating income streams, which rose 40% y-o-y to AED 1.8 bn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Core income held up: <\/strong>Net interest income rose 9.2% y-o-y to AED 947 mn during the quarter, as the lender\u2019s total assets grew 18.2% y-o-y to AED 107.3 bn. However, the real lift came from non-interest income, which more than doubled to AED 873 mn \u2014 up 102% y-o-y \u2014 largely on the back of the sale to Network International.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Rakbank delivered a message of resilience, both for the quarter and looking ahead.<\/strong> Group CEO Raheel
