{"id":110876,"date":"2025-12-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/?p=110876"},"modified":"2026-01-04T21:41:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T21:41:07","slug":"dubais-inflation-decelerates-in-november-on-lower-transport-costs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2025\/12\/17\/dubais-inflation-decelerates-in-november-on-lower-transport-costs\/","title":{"rendered":"Dubai's inflation decelerates in November on lower transport costs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Transport price inflation inched up for the second straight month in November<\/strong>, albeit at a slower pace of only <strong>0.23% y-o-y<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER - <\/strong>The Fuel Pricing Committee reduced petrol and diesel prices by up to 5.6% in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/184c1ee2-b9e4-4b4b-ac7e-3f96a0035c18\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">November<\/a>, before raising them again in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/19d1087f-8be4-4fbd-a476-c4964d20bec6\/%2525d9%252587%2525d8%2525b0%2525d8%2525a7-%2525d8%2525a7%2525d9%252584%2525d8%2525b5%2525d8%2525a8%2525d8%2525a7%2525d8%2525ad:-%2525d8%2525a3%2525d8%2525af%2525d8%2525a7%2525d8%2525a1-%2525d8%2525b3%2525d9%25258a%2525d8%2525a1-%2525d9%252584%2525d9%252584%2525d8%2525a3%2525d8%2525b3%2525d9%252587%2525d9%252585-%2525d9%252581%2525d9%25258a-%2525d9%252586%2525d9%252588%2525d9%252581%2525d9%252585%2525d8%2525a8%2525d8%2525b1-%252B-%2525d8%2525b3%2525d8%2525aa%2525d8%2525af%2525d9%252581%2525d8%2525b9%2525d9%252588%2525d9%252586-%2525d8%2525a3%2525d9%252583%2525d8%2525ab%2525d8%2525b1-%2525d9%252585%2525d9%252582%2525d8%2525a7%2525d8%2525a8%2525d9%252584%25253cmark%25253e-%2525d8%2525a7%2525d9%252584%2525d9%252588%2525d9%252582%2525d9%252588%2525d8%2525af%25253c%252Fmark%25253e-%2525d9%252581%2525d9%25258a-%2525d8%2525af%2525d9%25258a%2525d8%2525b3%2525d9%252585%2525d8%2525a8%2525d8%2525b1\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">December<\/a> by up to 6.7%.<strong><\/p>\n<p>Inflation is still pressured by housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels \u2014 the largest component of the basket<\/strong>, though the pace of the increase has slowed slightly to 5.29%, the lowest level in 32 months. \u201cHousing & utilities prices have accelerated faster than all other categories,\u201d Emirates NBD said in a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/12\/802.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">research note (pdf)<\/a>. \u201cOver January to November it has averaged 6.5% growth, more than twice as fast as the headline figure as population growth and investment fueled demand,\u201d it added. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>On a monthly basis, consumer prices registered a negative reading for the first time since last May, <\/strong>falling by 0.17% in November, retreating from October\u2019s largest monthly increase this year of 0.64%, according to the Statistics Center's <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/12\/801.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">monthly inflation report (pdf)<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>This decline was driven by transportation costs turning to a decline of 1.93% m-o-m, <\/strong>food and non-alcoholic beverage prices falling by 0.21% m-o-m, and clothing and footwear prices falling 2.31%. The recreation, sport, and culture sector also deepened its decline by 3.42%.
