On a monthly basis, inflation fell 0.3%, after having inched up 0.7% in October, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/12\/1342.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">separate data (pdf)<\/a> shows, indicating that broad inflationary pressures in the capital are dissipating under the weight of falling transport prices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Housing + utilities, furnishing lead the charge:<\/strong> The housing, water, electricity, and gas and other fuels segment \u2014 the heaviest-weighted component of the consumer basket \u2014 saw prices rise 3.9% y-o-y in November. Furnishing, householding equipment and routine household maintenance also inched up 5.9%. Inflation in these two categories rose at the fastest pace over the last four years. The ins. and financial services sector posted a 6.6% y-o-y increase, remaining unchanged from the previous month. While this is far below the 14.4% peak seen in April, it remains one of the fastest-growing categories in the emirate\u2019s price index.<br \/><strong>The clothing and footwear segment hit its lowest pace in four years<\/strong>, down 13.2% in November. Transport prices \u2014 the second-largest component \u2014 returned to deflation territory (-2.9%) after a brief uptick in October. Meanwhile, both education and health services prices saw no growth this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On a monthly basis<\/strong>, recreation and culture (+4.5%) recorded the highest increase, followed by a steady 0.7% m-o-m rise in housing, water, electricity, and gas costs. Clothing and footwear (-4.1%) and transport costs (-3.4%) contracted significantly, while personal care and miscellaneous goods (-0.8%), hospitality (-0.2%), and food and beverages (-0.1%) all pared back slightly.<br \/><strong>Abu Dhabi prices remain significantly cooler than Dubai<\/strong>, where inflation hit 2.73% in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">November<\/a>, easing from an October peak of 3.36% \u2014 the highest level registered this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">The bigger picture<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Earlier this month, the Central Bank of the UAE <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/b2638ddd-dea5-45aa-821e-992648b6296e\/%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253enon%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253eoil%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253esector%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253emomentum%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%2B%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253ehydrocarbons%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253erecovery%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253elift%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253egdp%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253eoutlook%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253efor%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e-%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e2025%253cmark%253e%253c%2Fmark%253e\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">lowered<\/a><\/strong><strong> its inflation <\/strong><strong>forecast for this year by 0.2 p<\/strong><strong>ercentage points<\/strong> to 1.3%, which it attributed to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">falling food and energy costs<\/a>.
