Mubadala Capital, Cain International to deploy bns in <\/strong>luxury real<\/strong> estate:<\/strong> Mubadala Capital partnered with London-based alternative asset manager Cain International<\/a> to invest bns of USD in luxury property, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg<\/a>. The funds will be used to expand some of the firms\u2019 existing portfolios and pursue new investments in the sector.<\/p>\n

Background:<\/strong> Cain CEO Jonathan Goldstein mentioned the Mubadala Capital partnership in an interview with Bloomberg (watch, runtime: 1:31:10<\/a>) earlier last month, without disclosing details. He mentioned plans to diversify into other regions, and name-checked the Middle East\u2019s Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, as offering \u201cpockets of huge growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tie-up builds on previous collaboration between the two investors in ultra-luxury hospitality brand <\/strong>Aman Group<\/a><\/strong>.<\/strong> Mubadala joined Alpha Wave Ventures in a USD 360 mn funding round for Aman in 2023, alongside Cain and Saudi Arabia\u2019s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which had injected <\/span>USD 900 mn<\/a> in 2022 to accelerate its global project pipeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Cain International:<\/strong> The privately held alternative asset manager \u2014 a partnership between CEO Jonathan Goldstein (LinkedIn<\/a>) and US-based Eldridge Industries<\/a> \u2014 manages USD 13.6 bn in assets as of March 2025, with investments spanning real estate equity, credit, and private equity, according to its website<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Mubadala Capital\u2019s venture arm, Mubadala Capital Ventures, took part in a USD 30 mn <\/strong>funding round for US-based biotech firm Tahoe Therapeutics<\/strong>, according to a press release<\/a>. The round was led by Amplify Partners, with Databricks Ventures, Wing Venture Capital, and General Catalyst also participating. <\/p>\n

Where will the money go? <\/strong>Tahoe will use the proceeds to grow its therapeutic programs and select a single strategic partner from the pharma or AI sectors to access its next-generation cell database.<\/p>\n

More on Tahoe: <\/strong>Founded in 2022 by Hani Goodarzi (LinkedIn<\/a>), Kevan Shokat, and Johnny Yu (LinkedIn<\/a>), the company is developing AI-powered virtual models of human cells to improve drug discovery. Its platform aims to compile 1 bn single-cell data points for more precise treatments, including cancer drugs.<\/p>\n
