A unit of th<\/strong>e Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (Adia) participated in <\/strong>Malaysian offshore equipment manufacturer Yinson <\/strong>Production Offshore\u2019s <\/strong>USD 1 bn funding round<\/a><\/strong>, according to a press release<\/a>. The funds came from issuing redeemable convertible preferred shares (RCPS) and warrants through a newly minted UK-based holding company. There is also an option to issue another USD 500 mn in RCPS over the next two years \u2014 if all parties agree.<\/p>\n

Who else?<\/strong> Funds managed by British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and RRJ Group also joined the round.<\/p>\n

How it is rolling out: <\/strong>The consortium fronted an initial USD 300 mn, \u201cof which USD 200 mn has been used for a special distribution to Yinson,\u201d according to the statement. The remaining USD 700 mn will be provided in up to three separate payments, as requested by Yinson, anytime before December 2026.<\/p>\n

By the numbers<\/strong>: RRJ is expected to chip in USD 320 mn to the total, but Adia\u2019s exact contribution was not disclosed. <\/p>\n
