The bank locked in a profit rate of 5.03% per year, with a credit spread of US Treasuries plus 105 basis points, tightened from earlier initial price thoughts of 140 basis points on the back of \u201csubstantial demand.\u201d <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Who bought in? <\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">Investors from the Middle East took 75% of the allocation, with 16% going to Europe and the UK. The rest went to Asia and offshore US accounts. Bank treasuries \u2014 Islamic and conventional \u2014 accounted for 64% of allocations, with the remainder going to asset managers, insurers, pension funds, and hedge funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Investor meetings in London led the bank to accelerate the closin<\/strong><strong>g of th<\/strong><strong>e issuance <\/strong>due to strong demand, the statement said. The bank went in with \u201cconfidence and clarity,\u201d capping the issuance size at USD 500 mn, a move it credits for attracting strong demand. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The issuance \u2014 the bank\u2019s first since 2024 \u2014 also marks the first public CEEME<\/strong><strong>A issuance to price since the US announced new trade tariffs<\/strong> on 2 April. It <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/e9aaf172-8e96-4648-9d5d-0f441717bdb0\/mashreq%25e2%2580%2599s-usd-500-mn-bond-sale-meets-heavy-demand,-allows-lender-to-lock-in-the-lowest-coupon-by-a-uae-bank-in-past-three-years\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">tapped<\/a> debt markets for a USD 500 mn additional tier 1 issuance last summer, which carried the lowest coupon for AT1 bonds set by a bank in the UAE in the past three years. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The sukuk was issued under Mashreq\u2019s USD 2.5 bn trust certificate progr<\/strong><strong>am and <\/strong><strong>will list on Euronext Dublin.<\/strong> It carries an A rating from S&amp;P, in line with the bank\u2019s A3\/A\/A investment-grade profile from Moody\u2019s, S&amp;P, and Fitch. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What they said:<\/strong> \u201cThis sukuk issuance underscores the depth of investor confidence in Mashreq\u2019s credit profile, strategy, and long-term fundamentals. The substantial oversubscription, despite ongoing market volatility, is a testament to our standing with global investors and reinforces our disciplined approach to market execution,\u201d our friend and Mashreq\u2019s Group CEO Ahmed Abdelaal said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ADVISORS- <\/strong>Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Al Rajhi Capital, Bank ABC, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD Capital, KFH Capital, Mashreq, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector acted as joint lead managers and bookrunners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Zooming out: The UAE\u2019s sukuk and bond markets continued to grow at a stea<\/strong><strong>dy pace in <\/strong><strong>1Q,<\/strong> with total outstanding issuances rising <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/fcc090c3-9791-41fe-9e8f-eadb57490a93\/%253cmark%253esukuk%253c%2Fmark%253e-and-bond-issuances-rose-8.3%2525-y-o-y-in-1q-2025--fitch\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">8.3% y-o-y to USD 309.4 bn<\/a>.
