The agreements were finalized during Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan\u2019s visit to Islamabad last week, where he met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ICYMI- <\/strong>The Abu Dhabi crown prince visited Pakistan for the first time <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/c6bfe845-15f4-417c-80b3-798aae34a7fe\/this-morning:-abu-dhabi-crown-prince-is-in%253cmark%253e-pakistan%253c%2Fmark%253e-for-investment-talks-%2B-non-oil-sector-to-contribute-80%2525-of-gdp-over-the-next-6-7-years\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last Thursday<\/a>, leading a delegation of ministers and business leaders to boost investments in the country and ink several agreements and MoUs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>A rundown of the agreements: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#1- Copper and gold exploration:<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ihcuae.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">International Holding Company\u2019s (IHC)<\/a> mining investment arm <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irh.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">International Resources Holding<\/a> signed an agreement with Pakistani energy firm <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/marienergies.com.pk\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mari Energies<\/a> to explore copper and gold reserves in Balochistan\u2019s Chagai district, one of Pakistan\u2019s most resource-rich areas. The project aims to support local economic development and secure critical minerals for future industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- Financial sector expansion: <\/strong>Eve Holding RCS, a subsidiary of IHC\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.2pointzero.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">2PointZero<\/a>, agreed to acquire an 82.64% stake in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fwbl.com.pk\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">First Women Bank Limited<\/a>, a state-owned commercial bank serving women through 42 branches across Pakistan. The acquisition, which is part of Pakistan\u2019s privatization push, is expected to boost financial inclusion \u2014 particularly for women-led businesses \u2014 and strengthen UAE-Pakistan banking ties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- Railway cooperation: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.etihadrail.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Etihad Rail<\/a> and Pakistan\u2019s Railways Ministry signed MoUs to ramp up the operational efficiency of Pakistan\u2019s rail network and explore the development of a new railway network to improve connectivity and support economic growth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#4- SEZ development: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adportsgroup.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">AD Ports Group<\/a> signed an MoU with the Pakistan Board of Investment to explore the development of a special economic zone (SEZ) near Karachi Port and Port Qasim to boost regional trade and economic activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#5- The firm also inked three separate agreements <\/strong>in digitalization, maritime services, and freight forwarding to expand its footprint in Pakistan\u2019s logistics sector: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Digitalization:<\/strong> AD Ports Group\u2019s Maqta Technologies and Pakistan\u2019s PSW will partner \u2014 in collaboration with Pakistan\u2019s Customs Services \u2014 to strengthen Pakistan\u2019s Sing Window systems, modernize border services, and analyze cross-border systems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maritime services: <\/strong>AD Ports and Pakistani industrial development conglomerate Bahria Foundation will pair up to bolster the productivity of dredging, marine services, and vessel pooling at Karachi Port.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Freight forwarding:<\/strong> AD Ports\u2019 freight forwarding subsidiary Noatum Logistics and its JV with Pakistan\u2019s Kaheel Terminals, dubbed Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose (KGTL), will partner to offer logistics solutions across air, ocean, and inland transport \u2014 including warehousing and distribution \u2014 to advance Pakistan\u2019s existing inland trade corridors into Central Asia. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER-<\/strong> AD Ports has acquired logistics businesses in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/1892854d-5d0e-4456-a225-6d97f3e8e37a\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Kazakhstan<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/09b8c214-0f87-411a-b2bf-0aead9b5a896\/qatar-%2B-kazakhstan-ink-agreements-worth-usd-18-bn-to-boost-economic-cooperation\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Uzbekistan<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/03841eef-5a1a-420f-8ded-0a17b164fe80\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia<\/a> \u2014 which would all strategically benefit from Pakistan serving as a middle corridor linking Asia and Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>AD Ports \u2665\ufe0f\u2019s Pakistan:<\/strong> AD Ports Group inked a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/f4a30779-3376-4212-9f34-c6aa7d283960\/ad-ports-to-invest-further-in-port-infrastructure-at-karachi-port\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">25-year concession agreement<\/a> last year to operate and manage more berths at the Eastern Wharf of Karachi Port, building on a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/88fce4b1-e401-499c-9364-dd8a00c04d71\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">50-year concession agreement<\/a> inked in 2023.
