This comes after UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome, where they agreed to work towards a comprehensive strategic partnership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The visit saw the signing of over 40 agreements<\/strong>, covering collaboration in data centers, AI, space exploration technologies, defense tech, cybersecurity, policing, health, energy and sustainability, water, and critical minerals. Cooperation between the two countries and African nations is also in the cards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#1- Italian energy firm <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eni.com\/en-IT\/home.html\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Eni<\/a><\/strong><strong> signed three agreements with Emirati companies<\/strong>, it said in a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eni.com\/en-IT\/media\/press-release\/2025\/02\/pr-eni-expands-collaboration-with-uae-in-data-center.html\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>. These include: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter of intent signed with Abu Dhabi\u2019s AI fund <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mgx.ae\/en\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">MGX<\/a><\/strong> and state AI firm <strong>G42<\/strong> to develop <strong>blue-powered data centres<\/strong> \u2014 using energy from Eni\u2019s natural gas power plants, whose CO2 emissions are captured and stored \u2014 with an initial <strong>1 GW capacit<\/strong>y in Italy, with the first project taking place over two phases;<\/li>\n<li>An agreement with <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/taqatransmission.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Taqa Transmission<\/a><\/strong> and renewables giant <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/masdar.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Masdar<\/a><\/strong> to serve as preferred <strong>off-taker<\/strong> for the <strong>tripartite subsea cable project<\/strong> that Italy and the Emirates inked with Albania <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/024f4f41-23ff-49ec-9503-d2a32513d7cd\/uae,-italy,-and-albania-ink-eur-1-bn-subsea-energy-cable-agreement\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last month<\/a> ;<\/li>\n<li>An agreement with sovereign wealth fund<strong> ADQ<\/strong> to develop <strong>critical minerals supply chain<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- Abu Dhabi nuclear firm Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) <\/strong><strong>plans to invest up to EUR 500 mn in <\/strong><strong>French-Italian nuclear operator Newcleo,<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-02-24\/abu-dhabi-s-enec-eyes-investment-in-nuclear-specialist-newcleo\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The agreement, signed during the president\u2019s visit to Rome, includes private funding and co-investment in Newcleo\u2019s European lead-cooled fast reactor projects.
