The wealth fund applied for sole ownership of Getir\u2019s grocery and food delivery businesses with Turkish antitrust authorities in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/a3d23f4b-db32-4f3a-a19c-f5fd639e19d1\/this-morning:-mubadala-could-take-full-ownership-of%253cmark%253e-getir%253c%2Fmark%253e-%2B-abu-dhabi-crown-prince-in-india\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">September<\/a>, after acquiring a controlling stake in the company back in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/18321f53-a960-4b9f-b0e3-a6df875204db\/ultratech-is-bidding-for-less-of-rak-white-cement\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">June<\/a>, leading a USD 250 mn funding round tied to the company\u2019s restructuring.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Under Mubadala\u2019s restructuring plan<\/strong>, Getir's profitable local grocery delivery operations would be separated from the company\u2019s noncore businesses. The agreement focuses on certain sectors including agriculture, retail, healthcare, financial services, technology, and tourism sectors, as well as accelerating investment in ICT, banking, tourism, infrastructure, and renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>This isn't their first cooperation<\/strong> as the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund ADQ and Kenya\u2019s National Treasury and Economic Planning Ministry inked a USD 500 mn investment framework back in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/1b1842e0-1a82-43d0-aea8-b71d3dab5adb\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">April 2024<\/a>. In addition, Kenya is currently in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/4f5c7fab-6467-4568-ae17-0776e379a09a\/%253cmark%253ekenya%253c%2Fmark%253e,-uae-discuss-railway-extension-to-uganda,-south-sudan-%2B-trinasolar-seeks-partner-for-usd-5-bn-solar-project\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">discussions<\/a> with the UAE to help the country extend its Standard Gauge Railway to connect it with Uganda and South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Meanwhile, the African country\u2019s discussions with Abu Dhabi regarding its <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/e73c8a9c-dc3c-451a-9e28-6acfa6e37c12\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">USD 1.5 bn<\/a><\/strong> <strong> loan are still ongoing<\/strong>, K\u2019Ombudo said. it now sees the economy growing at a 4.0% clip in 2025 \u2014 slightly down from its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/526d8fbb-5582-4b40-b987-727aba3d981c\/alef-education-debuts-on-the-adx-in-abu-dhabi%25e2%2580%2599s-first-ipo-of-the-year\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">previous forecast<\/a> of 4.1% growth for the year. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>However, the bank has penciled in a higher estimate of 4.1% GDP growth in 2026,<\/strong> up from a previous estimate of 4.0% growth for next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The World Bank\u2019s estimate for this year is less optimistic than others:<\/strong> The Arab Monetary Fund said in its Arab Economic Outlook back in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/43973ea1-4e08-43f2-a53a-2f0d62dfc05c\/this-morning:-indian-importers-cease-imports-of-silver-and-platinum-from-the-uae-%2B-chilean-president-to-visit-the-uae-next-week\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">July<\/a> that it sees the UAE\u2019s GDP accelerating to 6.2% in 2025, buoyed by growth in tourism, real estate, and trade, as well as an increase in capital spending. The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) also penciled in growth of 4.5% in 2025, down from an earlier projection of 6% back in September. It also projected growth to accelerate to 5.5% in 2026 due to the base effects of hydrocarbon GDP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The GCC\u2019s growth prospects have also been slashed:<\/strong> The World Bank slashed its growth forecast for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to 3.3% in 2025, down by 1.4 percentage points from its previous forecasts in June, due to \u201cthe extension of the voluntary production cuts by OPEC+,\u201d the report reads. The bank sees growth picking up again in 2026, predicting growth of 4.6% in 2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Remember:<\/strong> Opec plans to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/855c257a-7051-43ce-aa8c-9fbdce2f9200\/imf-sees-oil-gdp-growing-6.7%2525-next-year,-non-oil-growth-to-come-in-at-4.5%2525\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">unwind<\/a> oil production cuts as of 2Q 2025, with the UAE also given a higher quota to increase production by 300k bbl\/d gradually from April 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>On a regional basis:<\/strong> The World Bank expects growth in the MENA region to reach 3.4% in 2025 and 4.1% in 2026 up from 1.8% last year \u2014 the 2025 forecast is down 0.8 percentage points from previous forecasts, the lender attributed the downward revision to OPEC+ members extending voluntary oil production cuts. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sees the Middle East and Central Asia growing at a 3.6% clip in 2025 and 3.9% in 2026, both down 0.3 percentage points from the forecasts made last October, the IMF said in its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/1\/1149.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">World Economic Outlook report (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">IN OTHER ECONOMY UPDATES-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Standard Chartered sees the GCC to be a \u201cbright spot\u201d for global growth in 2025, <\/strong>expecting GCC countries\u2019 \u201cresilient non-oil sector growth and strategic investments\u201d to lead to a positive performance despite the projected slowdown in global growth to 3.1% from 3.2%, the bank said in a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/1\/1207.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">press release (pdf)<\/a>. By focusing on economic diversification and leveraging opportunities in non-oil sectors, the region continues to chart a path of sustainable growth,\u201d Standard Chartered\u2019s Ayesha Abbas said. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Meanwhile, credit rating agency Moody\u2019s sees the UAE\u2019s non-oil economy growing by <\/strong><strong>over 5% t<\/strong><strong>his year,<\/strong> with the agency saying that most countries in the region will experience stronger growth bolstered by a recovery in oil production and investment in major projects, according to a Moody\u2019s report seen by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aletihad.ae\/news\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%AA%D8%B5%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%8A\/4544732\/-%D9%85%D9%88%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%B2---%D9%86%D9%85%D9%88-%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%AA%D8%B5%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A5%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%BA%D9%8A%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D9%81%D8%B7%D9%8A-%D8%A8%D8%A3%D9%83%D8%AB%D8%B1-%D9%85%D9%86--5-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Etihad<\/a>.
