Other than that, we come bearing analysis of a slew of macro data released over the Eid break. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Bad news first: <\/strong>The uneasy standoff between the US and Iran has not yielded an agreement yet, and it\u2019s anybody\u2019s guess whether the fighting will continue at this point.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The war\u2019s impact has already filtered through to prices in Dubai<\/strong>, which rose by the steepest rate in several years in March and April. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"> <a id=\"wwtt4\"><\/a> <strong>But the good news is: <\/strong>Despite the lack of clarity around the situation in the Strait of Hormuz \u2014 and several skirmishes in the Strait over the Eid break \u2014 it appears the new normal is now that ships are sailing through at their own risk, mostly by going dark. That\u2019s how another Adnoc LNG tanker \u2014 the Umm Al Ashtan \u2014 transited the Strait earlier in the month, before reappearing off of Oman carrying LNG bound, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-05-27\/adnoc-exports-another-lng-shipment-through-hormuz-to-india\" style=\"\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports. Adnoc has also exported three other LNG shipments from the Gulf on tankers that went dark while crossing Hormuz, the latest of which has since docked in western India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Still far from normal:<\/strong> The transit adds to a small batch of recent energy shipments through Hormuz \u2014 including at least two non-Iranian oil supertankers that exited the Gulf. However, LNG flows remain far below normal. Before the war, around three LNG tankers transited the strait each day, mostly carrying Qatari cargoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>In other good news \u2014 the UAE released 2025 GDP data, and the numbers speak of a solid growth story for the non-oil sector <\/strong>\u2014 very welcome news as oil price volatility and supply chain disruptions make it so that oil-dependent economies are a lot more exposed. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ALSO- Abu Dhabi investors are staying active on the global front<\/strong>, with MGX pouring more funds into Claude maker Anthropic, and Mubadala capitalizing on an AI stock rally by selling shares in GlobalFoundries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">PSAs<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>It\u2019s the start of a new month<\/strong>, and that means changes to fuel prices, and a whole host of new regulations and laws coming into effect. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" id=\"kix.i0r6p3ah2a08\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"> <a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a> <strong>#1- The <\/strong><strong>UAE<\/strong><strong> Fuel Price Committee<\/strong><strong> raised prices<\/strong><strong> once again for most fuels<\/strong>, though diesel saw a dip to partially offset April\u2019s massive <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/04\/01\/fuel-prices-spike-as-much-as-72-4\/\" style=\"\">72.4% raise<\/a>, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EmaratOfficial\/status\/2060994681811726691?s=20\" style=\"\">post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Here\u2019s the breakdown per liter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Super 98 <\/strong>is now AED 3.95, up from AED 3.66 in May (+7.9%);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Special 95 <\/strong>is AED 3.83, up from AED 3.55 (+7.9%);<\/li>\n<li><strong>E-Plus 91 <\/strong>is AED 3.76, up from AED 3.48 (+8.0);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diesel <\/strong>is AED 4.33, down from AED 4.69 (-7.7).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>IN CONTEXT- <\/strong>Fuel prices were initially hiked <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/03\/02\/this-morning-intl-players-assess-uae-operations-amid-strikes-opec-to-raise-production-in-april\/\" style=\"\">in March<\/a> and then raised again between 30.9-72.4% <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/04\/01\/fuel-prices-spike-as-much-as-72-4\/\" style=\"\">in April<\/a> after Brent crude traded above USD 100 \/ bbl for weeks. The supply chain squeeze from the regional war drove up diesel prices in particular, meaning the 7.7% dip is a slight offset rather than a welcome relief to February\u2019s price of AED 2.72.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The drop in diesel prices will be a relief for industry as well as logistics and delivery firms. <\/strong>The uptick in diesel prices <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/04\/22\/the-surge-in-fuel-prices-is-working-its-way-through-the-economy\/\" style=\"\">has been weighing<\/a> on several industries including transport, logistics, construction, and delivery services, which have had to pass it on to consumers through surcharges. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- Prepare to pay extra for tolls + parking in Dubai:<\/strong> Dubai\u2019s road toll operator Salik and parking operator Parkin will begin collecting 5% VAT on all fees and subscription charges starting today. Salik will be adding 30 fils to the standard AED 6 crossing and 20 fils to the AED 4 crossing, it said in a bourse <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2026\/5\/1507.pdf\" style=\"\">disclosure (pdf)<\/a>, while Parkin\u2019s fees will rise by 10-50 fils depending on the location and hour (i.e. whether it\u2019s a peak or off-peak hour). <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why? <\/strong>The move follows a Federal Tax Authority ruling that Salik and Parkin\u2019s services constitute taxable supplies under the existing UAE VAT framework. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3-<\/strong> <strong>A slate of <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/01\/05\/new-rules-for-contracts-asset-ownership-and-buyer-protections-set-under-new-federal-decree-laws\/\" style=\"\">new federal decree laws<\/a><\/strong> <strong> rewiring civil transactions, <\/strong><strong>company mechanics, and the general age of maturity is also coming into effect today. <\/strong>The highlights are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The age of maturity has been dropped from 21 to 18, allowing young adults the flexibility to manage finances earlier, and individuals as young as 15 are also authorized to manage their own assets;<\/li>\n<li>Pre-contract negotiations now must be explicitly disclosed; <\/li>\n<li>New rules have been put in place for nonprofits requiring them to reinvest earnings to achieve their objectives. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Also on the logistics front:<\/strong> Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Freezones Authority and Sharjah\u2019s Roads and Transport Authority has started to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/article\/c0cvola-sharjah-waives-toll-gate-fees-for-oman-cargo\" style=\"\">waive truck toll gate fees<\/a> for cargo trucks entering from Oman and traveling along designated logistics corridor routes across the emirate. Khemanand Hurhangee, an accountant who the complainants say is linked to Raja, owns six property firms, all filed for administration recently. The firm is in discussions for a potential direct listing, which could come sometime this year, after UAE-based investors took part in its Hong Kong listing in December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why it matters: <\/strong>A secondary listing from InSilico would make it the first non-Gulf player to list shares on a regional index. The region is looking to increase cross-listing with other indices, with the ADX becoming the first regional exchange to cross-list with a US-domiciled ETF <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2025\/12\/17\/us-listed-etfs-land-on-adx-and-kkr-makes-a-gulf-investment\/\" style=\"\">last year<\/a>. It\u2019d also be a welcome boost to liquidity on the ADX given the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2026\/05\/13\/this-morning-ipo-plans-cool-for-dubai-holding-and-ega-more-uae-syria-collaboration-is-on-the-way\/\" style=\"\">muted IPO pipeline<\/a> for UAE indices since the Iran war started.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>InSilico? <\/strong>InSilico uses AI for drug discovery and development and has a presence in Hong Kong, China, and the US.
