It forms part of the UAE\u2019s pledge to invest USD 30-50 bn in French AI and data infrastructure. The capital will be allocated toward the development and deployment of the Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5 satellites. The company has not disclosed a timeline for the expected financing or the names of the institutions with which it is in talks. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ICYMI-<\/strong> Abu Dhabi\u2019s Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) \u2014 which was merged with Bayanat later to create Space42 \u2014 partnered with SpaceX <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/47e80bdc-d9d4-4299-bdae-840d944da59b\/yahsat-to-launch-its-aed-3.9-bn-satellites-through-musk%25e2%2580%2599s-spacex\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last year<\/a> for the launch of its two AED 3.9 bn satellites \u2014 Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5, which will replace two currently operational satellites. Scheduled for launch in 2027 and 2028, the satellites will be sent into space on the US company\u2019s Falcon 9 rocket.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- <\/strong><strong>Sectors <\/strong><strong>to watch under the UAE-EAEU Cepa:<\/strong> A new <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/80cd6fb4-4bb0-49bb-ad92-ce7c251ee661\/uae-inks-trade,-investment-agreements-in-minsk\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">trade pact<\/a> between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will expand market access for industries including metals, petrochemicals, processed foods, polymers, and consumer goods, Eurasian Economic Commission Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev told state news agency <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/article\/bkkw5bf-uae-among-top-ten-global-trading-partners-for\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Wam<\/a>. Over 85% of goods will see tariff reductions, with Emirati exports like polyethylene, cosmetics, and home appliances gaining wider entry to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) markets, while goods from the bloc such as dairy, steel and aluminium, and transport products will face fewer barriers entering the UAE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>IN CONTEXT- <\/strong>The UAE ratified a comprehensive economic partnership agreement with the EAEU last month, after concluding trade talks <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/7a3d8c8a-0144-40cc-a850-bce48907ea67\/uae-finalizes-trade-talks-with%253cmark%253e-eurasian%253c%2Fmark%253e-economic-union\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier in December<\/a>. The fund aims to support strategic development projects in Brazil and other participating countries. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The announcement formalizes ADIG\u2019s earlier pledge in December 2024 to <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/ad1b5973-614c-43d7-9d4a-6afd9a74c414\/abu-dhabi-investment-group-to-invest-usd-100-bn-in-brazil-across-various-sectors\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">invest USD 100 bn<\/a><\/strong><strong> in Brazil\u2019s infrastructure and agricultural sectors.<\/strong> Plans also included establishing a bank and launching agricultural projects on 400k sqm to support food security programs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Where will the funds be deployed?<\/strong> The new development fund will target a wide range of sectors, including industry, agriculture, real estate, technology, environment and recycling, energy, retail, infrastructure, healthcare, education and training, transportation, trade, and public debt instruments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">DATA POINTS- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#1- <\/strong><strong>U<\/strong><strong>AE banks\u2019 market cap grew the most in the region in 2Q 2025: <\/strong>Emirati banks saw one of the highest q-o-q growth in market capitalization in the Middle East and Africa in 2Q 2025, according to S&amp;P Global Market Intelligence data published in a recent <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spglobal.com\/market-intelligence\/en\/news-insights\/articles\/2025\/7\/top-20-middle-east-and-africa-banks-by-market-cap-q2-2025-91422453\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">research note<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank saw the biggest jump in market cap<\/strong>, climbing three spots in a ranking of the top 20 banks by market cap in the region with a market cap of USD 21.3 bn by the end of the second quarter, a 34% rise from the previous quarter. The bank posted a 18% y-o-y increase in its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/b75d138c-ec06-41ff-aada-746c917a0f48\/more-banks-report-1q-earnings\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">1Q 2025 net income after tax to AED 1.7 bn<\/a> on the back of a robust balance sheet, accelerated business momentum, and consistent customer growth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>How other local banks fared:<\/strong> Other major Emirati lenders in the list, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, which is the third largest in the region by market cap, Emirates NBD Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Dubai Islamic Bank, also saw double-digit growth in their market caps. Their improved performance stemmed from a reduction in credit risks as a result of measures by the UAE government as part of its economic and social reforms, the research note added. US copper prices soared to a record high on the news, with futures trading at USD 5.69 a pound.
