The company is weighing controlled transactions, drilling JVs, and minority stakes, Siddiqui said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>The timing is doing some of the heavy lifting: <\/strong>Banks are stepping back from the US LNG market over fears of global oversupply, opening a lane for deep-pocketed Middle Eastern players willing to deploy capital, Director of Global Gas at Rapidan Energy Group Alex Munton told the salmon-colored paper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>Why this matters: <\/strong>US assets offer market access and a hedge against regional instability at a moment when Adnoc is building optionality into its portfolio. \u201cThe US is a market where we want to be bold,\u201d Siddiqui noted, adding that \u201cthis is unwavering, although obviously we will only do that under the right return expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>That portfolio is already planting flags in <\/strong><strong>the<\/strong><strong> US:<\/strong> XRG took an 11.7% stake in the first phase of NextDecade\u2019s USD 18 bn Rio Grande LNG export facility in Texas back <a href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/uae\/2025\/09\/26\/xrg-finalizes-acquisition-of-stake-in-rio-grandes-lng-facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last year<\/a> \u2014 marking its first direct investment in US gas infrastructure. The company also <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/6be1b3d5-6066-43b3-95f1-8d964408cdeb\/adnoc-mulls-usd-9-bn-acquisition-of-of-us-firm%25e2%2580%2599s-nat-gas-assets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explored<\/a> a USD 9 bn acquisition of US assets, <a href=\"https:\/\/adnoc.ae\/en\/news-and-media\/press-releases\/2024\/khaled-bin-mohamed-bin-zayed-witnesses-signing-ceremony-for-adnoc-and-exxonmobil-to-partner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including<\/a> a 35% stake in ExxonMobil\u2019s proposed low-carbon hydrogen facility, which is now on hold. Furthermore, it plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/186c81e6-8ec5-4a69-bcbf-d7382accb280\/this-morning:-another-dfm-ipo-this-year%3F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">establish<\/a> a trading desk in the US and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/806a2311-dc35-476d-9cd6-8216da1f3d23\/breakdown-of-the-uae-and-the-us%25e2%2580%2599-usd-60%253cmark%253e-bn%253c%2Fmark%253e-energy-investment-package\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">increase<\/a> its US investments to USD 440 bn over the next decade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">On a short-term fix<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>Adnoc is offering buyers a workaround:<\/strong> Adnoc has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/ar\/business\/GVGBXMBNRVNV7DKX457TEXXOWM-2026-04-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> term customers they can pick up May cargoes \u2014 including Das and Upper Zakum \u2014 via alternative delivery points on a case-by-case basis. That includes ship-to-ship transfers off Fujairah and potentially Sohar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>The details matter: <\/strong>This means shipments are effectively pre-positioned beyond the chokepoint, though it\u2019s unclear when or how those cargoes crossed the strait as transit remains constrained \u2014 despite an LNG vessel managing to <a href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2026\/04\/28\/today-rail-is-advancing-but-not-at-network-scale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sneak out<\/a> this week. The UAE\u2019s pipeline to Fujairah is mainly tied up moving Murban, leaving limited room for other grades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0;margin: 0;line-height: 1.15;text-align: left\"><strong>The risk is reflected in pricing<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Adnoc has set a flat May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zawya.com\/en\/business\/energy\/uaes-adnoc-raises-murban-crude-selling-price-to-11075-bbl-for-may-g7chndbj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official selling price<\/a> of USD 110 per barrel across Murban, Upper Zakum, and Das, up from USD 69 in April.
