DHL joins the Gulf\u2019s drone delivery queue<\/p>\n

<\/strong>DHL<\/strong> Express taps Lodd for autonomous drone delivery: <\/strong>Abu Dhabi-based drone manufacturer Lodd Autonomous inked an MoU with DHL Express to explore the integration of Lodd\u2019s unmanned Hili aircraft into DHL\u2019s last-mile delivery operations, according to a press release (pdf)<\/a>. The next steps include forming joint operational workshops to explore key route definition, refine data payloads, accelerate turnaround times, and boost interoperability for scalable implementation.<\/p>\n

ICYMI-<\/strong> Logistics provider Aramex inked a similar agreement with Lodd in December<\/a> to integrate the hybrid vertical take-off and landing cargo plane into its regional delivery network.<\/p>\n

\n

Egypt moves up the automotive value chain with USD 100 mn Himile factory<\/p>\n

China\u2019s <\/strong>Himile Group<\/a><\/strong> will invest USD 100 mn in a new factory in Egypt to <\/strong>produce tire molds and industrial components<\/strong>, bolstering the country\u2019s automotive feeder industries and deepening local manufacturing capacity, according to a cabinet statement<\/a>. The 100k sqm facility is expected to be completed in 1H 2026. Once operational, it\u2019s expected to create between 1k-2k jobs and position Egypt as an export base serving the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.<\/p>\n
