The project will add some 3.55 mn metric tons per annum (mtpa) of offshore LNG capacity for Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Background: <\/strong>XRG <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/966537ba-477e-4d02-853c-48ac28ba0227\/xrg-takes-stake-in-mozambique%25e2%2580%2599s-rovuma-basin-concession-%2B-veon-secures-usd-210-mn-from-gcc-banks,-icbc-standard-bank\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Adnoc\u2019s 10% stake in<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/966537ba-477e-4d02-853c-48ac28ba0227\/xrg-takes-stake-in-mozambique%25e2%2580%2599s-rovuma-basin-concession-%2B-veon-secures-usd-210-mn-from-gcc-banks,-icbc-standard-bank\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">the basin<\/a> earlier this year, gaining access to the operational Coral South FLNG and the planned Coral North expansion, as well as Rovuma LNG onshore development, which together hold over 25 mtpa of potential LNG capacity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2-<\/strong> <strong>Where does Egypt\u2019s USD 35 bn gas agreement with Israel stand?<\/strong> Israel\u2019s Leviathan gas field partners have until the end of the month to meet conditions for the USD 35 bn agreement with Egypt, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mees.com\/2025\/10\/3\/oil-gas\/israel-egypt-gas-deal-deadline-extended-amid-domestic-gas-price-dispute\/11695c40-a058-11f0-b7c9-a9d51050ed25\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mees<\/a> reported on Friday. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a5ea0cf3-b7f4-4ee2-ab23-06794178f32e\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">The agreement<\/a>, signed with state-owned Blue Ocean Energy, could see 130 bn cubic metres (bcm) of gas sent to Egypt from 2026 through 2040.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The Leviathan partners \u2014 Chevron, NewMed Energy, and Ratio \u2014 must still clear several <\/strong><strong>conditions for the agreement to proceed. <\/strong>Israel\u2019s Energy Ministry has already approved their development plan for the Leviathan expansion, paving the way for a final investment decision later this month. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The logistics angle:<\/strong> The consortium has also reached terms with state network operator INGL to use the planned <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/400d213f-1efc-4fe6-ba06-7112e2331831\/uae-and-13-other-nations-launch-new-trade-bloc\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">600 mcf\/d Nitzana pipeline<\/a> linking Israel\u2019s southern grid to Sinai. The Leviathan partners signaled their intent to proceed independently through Nitzana if other Israeli gas producers \u2014 namely Tamar and Karish operators \u2014 fail to sign transportation terms before month-end, Mees said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The remaining obstacle lies in Israel\u2019s domestic regulatory and political arena:<\/strong> A dispute among Tamar partners over gas pricing for Israel\u2019s state utility has triggered concerns over rising electricity costs, Mees added. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also reportedly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/b39482e1-eba0-430f-964f-acf4bb07ad39\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">froze<\/a> the agreement amid rising Israeli-Egyptian tensions. The coming weeks will determine whether the partners can secure government approvals and finalize the agreement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a>  <strong>#3- A consortium led by Saudi-based <\/strong><strong>Asyad<\/strong> <strong>Holding<\/strong><strong> bids for Baghdad airport: <\/strong>A consortium including Asyad Holdings, China\u2019s Top International Engineering Corporation, Turkey\u2019s YDA \u0130n\u015faat, Bahrain\u2019s Lamar Holding, and Ireland\u2019s Dublin Airport Authority is among three groups vying to develop and operate Baghdad International Airport under a 25-year public-private partnership (PPP) model, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ina.iq\/ar\/local\/244803-.html\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Iraqi New Agency<\/a> reported Friday. The project covers infrastructure rehabilitation, a new passenger terminal, and operations and maintenance. The airport is slated for a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/116d1ac0-ec6d-472c-a339-e03a9cf19602\/iraq-seeks-bids-for-usd-400-600-mn-revamp-of-baghdad-int%25e2%2580%2599l-airport\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">revamp worth USD 400-600 mn<\/a> put together with the help of the International Finance Corporation. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>IN OTHER IRAQI UPDATES- <\/strong><strong>Excelerate <\/strong><strong>to develop Iraq\u2019s first FLNG: <\/strong>Iraq has awarded a contract to US-based LNG firm Excelerate Energy to develop a floating liquefied natural gas import terminal, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/excelerateenergy.com\/news\/excelerate-energy-receives-award-letter-from-iraqi-government-to-develop-integrated-floating-lng-import-terminal\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> published last week. Development plans and binding commercial agreements are still under discussion. The drop comes on the back of market turbulence driven by the ongoing flurry of US tariffs since April.
