The move comes as Airbus seeks to strengthen the stability of supply for its commercial aircraft production. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Airbus will take ownership of the following assets:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A350 fuselage sections production facilities<\/strong> at the sites of Kinston in North Carolina in the US and St. Nazaire in France;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A321 and A220 components site <\/strong>at Casablanca in Morocco;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A220 pylons production site<\/strong> in Wichita, Kansas in the US;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A site making A320 and A350 wing components<\/strong> in Prestwich, Scotland;<\/li>\n<li><strong>A220 wings and mid-fuselage site <\/strong>in Belfast, Northern Ireland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>A slight change in plans: <\/strong>Spirit will now compensate Airbus with USD 439 mn \u2014 subject to certain adjustments. The amount is an adjustment to a revised scope of an agreement that was signed between <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.airbus.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2024-07-airbus-enters-agreement-with-spirit-aerosystems\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbus and Spirit back in July 2024<\/a>. Spirit also intends to sell the site of Subang, Malaysia to a third-party owner. The closing of the transaction is scheduled for 3Q 2025, with regulatory and customary approvals still pending.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ICYMI- <\/strong>Spirit received up to USD 350 mn from Boeing and up to USD 107 mn from Airbus in advance payments <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/57e0757c-5889-4ce5-88f7-3d1760b8d58d\/airbus-to-delay-the-launch-of-its-new-a350-freighter-model\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">back in November<\/a> to help it stay afloat as it continued to burn through cash after four consecutive years of losses. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Boeing\u2019s been eyeing full acquisition: <\/strong>Spirit\u2019s shareholders approved a Boeing purchase agreement <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/52e1f7eb-827b-4bf1-a43f-274f22c084da\/boeing-expected-to-acquire%253cmark%253e-spirit-aerosystems%253c%2Fmark%253e-by-mid-2025\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">back in February<\/a>, clearing the path for Boeing to fully acquire AeroSystems. The acquisition is expected to close the USD 4.7 bn transaction by mid-2025, subject to regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Foreign <\/strong><strong>firms in China reel from trade <\/strong><strong>war<\/strong><strong>: <\/strong>Foreign manufacturers in China are getting slapped with double tariffs \u2014 up to 125% to import components and 145% to export secondary and final products to the US, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/04c41f8b-d745-4cb5-a06f-c7e3022bd385\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Financial Times<\/a> reports. \u201cForeign firms are really being squeezed in the Chinese market\u2026if they import, they pay the Chinese tariffs. When they export back to the US, they pay the US tariffs\u2026they are hit twice,\u201d director of the Asia Global Institute at the University of Hong Kong Heiwai Tang told the outlet. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Who\u2019s bearing the brunt?<\/strong> Major US firms like Apple and Tesla and several small-scale producers rely on China as a manufacturing hub. China has so far allowed a tariff exemption if the final product is exported back to the US within a specific time frame, but the country did not grant the exemption if the goods are exported to countries other than the US. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Is it too far gone? <\/strong>Although foreign companies account for one-third of China\u2019s total trade, their trade share in the country has fallen from 55% of its total trade in 2008 to 29.6% in 2024, which comes on the back of a strict policy of industrial
