The big-ticket project is split between a USD 300 mn first phase \u2014 to be completed within 18 months \u2014 and a second USD 200 mn second phase. The facility \u2014 spanning 400k sqm \u2014 is forecasted to have a maximum production capacity of 100k tons. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Bolstering Egypt\u2019s localization and import-substitution efforts:<\/strong> The factory is good news for the country\u2019s import bill and localization efforts, given all the things produced through the chlor-alkali process used in the factory, such as chlorine gas, hydrogen gas, and sodium hydroxide. These key chemicals are used in numerous industries and everyday items. For example, Chlorine is used to purify water and make plastics, sodium hydroxide can be used to make paper, soap, and textiles, while hydrogen is used in fertilizers, refining crude oil, and more. \u201cFrom an economic standpoint, the project opens up wide prospects for downstream and complementary industries, while enhancing Egypt\u2019s capacity to secure its needs for strategic products used across various vital sectors,\u201d said SCZone head Walid Gamal El Din. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Going green:<\/strong> The project gets its green credentials by relying on solar power, wind energy, electricity, and natural gas for its energy needs. \u201cThe project is not merely a large industrial facility but a fully integrated system built upon the principles of environmental sustainability, utilizing diverse clean energy sources to power the production units,\u201d said Gamal El Din.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>About Binhua (Befar) Group:<\/strong> The firm \u2014 established in 1968 \u2014 specializes in chemicals, petrochemicals, and new energy solutions.
