<\/strong>Bol<\/strong>uda <\/strong>joins <\/strong>Marsa Maroc to <\/strong>operate <\/strong>towage <\/strong>in Nador West Med:<\/strong> Morocco\u2019s port operator Marsa Maroc has formed a joint venture (JV) with towage services provider Boluda Towage France \u2014 a subsidiary of the Spanish Boluda Towage \u2014 to provide towage and assistance services at Nador West Med port under a 20-year license, according to a statement<\/a> released last week. The JV will see the pair invest EUR 45 mn in the JV, in part to purchase four tugboats with a towing capacity of 80 tonnes.<\/p>\n

What else we know: <\/strong> The license will enter into effect starting 4Q 2026, and the JV is designed to help Marsa Maroc develop its own towing business unit on the long-term, the statement added. Boluda Towage France will hold 51% of the JV, while Marsa Maroc will hold the rest.<\/p>\n

Marsa Maroc has been on a roll: <\/strong>Marsa Maroc inked a 25-year concession agreement with Nador West Med in February<\/a> for its Western Terminal. The port operator will invest EUR 280 mn in developing the terminal\u2019s first phase, which is slated to be operational by 2027.
