The investment will focus on ports, shipbuilding, and air cargo in a bid to bolster exports and create 10k new jobs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The funds will go towards:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raising the capacity of container ports on the east and west coasts, including in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Dutch Harbor, and Houston.<\/li>\n<li>Tripling the company\u2019s portfolio of US-flagged vessels to 30.<\/li>\n<li>Developing 400 new warehouses and automotive logistics platforms aimed at levelling up stateside supply chains.<\/li>\n<li>Establishing an air cargo hub in Chicago and equipping it with five new Boeing 777 aircraft. <\/li>\n<li>Launching a new logistics R&D hub in Boston with a focus on robotics and automation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Logistics <\/strong><strong>giant DHL Group<\/strong><strong> saw i<\/strong><strong>ts net income climb 12.1% y-o-y \u2014 based on our own calculations \u2014 to EUR 1.1 bn<\/strong><strong> in 4Q 2024<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/3\/516.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">earnings release (pdf)<\/a> released on Thursday. The firm\u2019s revenues also bumped 6.4% y-o-y to EUR 22.7 bn. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>On a yearly basis: <\/strong>DHL\u2019s bottom line dropped nearly 9.3% y-o-y to EUR 3.3 bn in FY 2024, while its topline increased 3% y-o-y to EUR 84.2 bn. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What they said:<\/strong> \u201cWe expect the global political and economic situation to remain volatile in 2025. However, we want to continue growing in this environment and are focusing on the measures we can control,\u201d CEO Tobias Meyer said.
