The facility, built over 60k sqm, looks to produce over 40k tonnes of calcium hypochlorite per year and will be the largest production base for calcium hypochlorite in Egypt and Africa, according to the statement. The project is being developed in two phases, with production to begin following the completion of the first phase in May 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong style=\"background-color: transparent;\">D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu?<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> We first heard about the project back <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/627f4029-fd82-4889-9f31-47f86e21b828\/construction-of-new-usd-30-mn-chinese-chemical-factory-from-kemidi-in-ain-sokhna-kicks-off\" rel=\"noopener\">in May<\/a><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"> \u2014 but at a cost of only USD 17.2 mn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>China plays a prominent role in the SCZone:<\/strong> So far, there are upwards of 160 Chinese companies that have established bases in the zone, who have collectively invested around USD 2 bn, Suez Canal Economic Zone Chief Walid Gamal El Din said.
