The contract also includes supervision of waste disposal by Antipollution Egypt and recycling marine waste. The efforts will be expanded to the South entrance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>In the works for a while:<\/strong> News of the initiative broke <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/9c291f1f-a869-46bb-8f24-dcf95c1fa210\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last April<\/a> regarding a new waste management system aimed at reducing waste dumping from ships. The system will ensure no ship crosses the canal with solid or liquid waste onboard. The Egyptian Marine Supply and Contracting company \u2014 affiliated with the Ministry of Transport \u2014 will oversee contractors hired to collect waste from the passing ships and provide a legal umbrella for its handling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>About Antipollution Egypt:<\/strong> SCZone and Greek waste management company Antipollution \u2014 a subsidiary of marine services company V Group \u2014 agreed to form the joint stock company <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/09787f5a-1b8b-4158-81fa-d92562d6cf6b\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last March<\/a> to establish a waste treatment plant in Egypt\u2019s SCZone. The waste treatment facility will process fluid and soluble waste collected from vessels transiting through the Suez Canal to be repurposed as part of Egypt\u2019s efforts to boost its blue economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">RAIL-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>DP Word boosts rail capacity at London Gateway by 50%<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> The UAE\u2019s DP World has inaugurated two new USD 12 mn rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes at its London Gateway rail terminal, which will boost the volume of freight carried to and from the terminal by rail, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dpworld.com\/london-gateway\/news\/latest-news\/new-cranes-boost-rail-capacity-by-50-per-cent-at-dp-world-london-gateway\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. The cranes, which will go into operation in mid-August, have a lifting capacity of 41 tonnes and are set to expand box handling capacity by 75% at the terminal. The move also seeks to reduce supply chain carbon emissions by relying more on rail to ease congestion on roads. The cranes will be used to handle cargo at the London Gateway\u2019s new GBP 350 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/5924933d-b5cf-4dea-9b94-996b810bca45\/dp-world-pours-gbp-12-mn-into-8-straddle-carriers-for-its-london-gateway\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">all-electric berth<\/a> set to open later this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">LOGISTICS HANDLING-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Aramex to offer special logistics services for businesses in the Dubai Chamber of <\/strong><strong>Commerce:<\/strong> Dubai-based logistics firm <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aramex.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Aramex<\/a> inked an MoU with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dubaichambers.com\/en\/home\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Dubai Chambers<\/a> to offer comprehensive logistics services for businesses registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaoffice.ae\/en\/news\/2024\/july\/03-07\/dubai-chambers-partners-with-aramex\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. Meanwhile, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.emx.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">EMX<\/a>, 7X\u2019s courier and parcel arm, plans to expand its reach by adding new destinations.
