Let\u2019s jump right in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">WATCH THIS SPACE-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><\/strong><strong><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a>#1- <\/strong><strong>AD Ports files bid for container terminal at India\u2019s Chidambaranar Port<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> A consortium spearheaded by AD Ports Group has reportedly filed initial bids on a state-run Chidambaranar Port Authority tender to build a USD 845 mn, 4 mn TEU capacity container terminal at the port, Indian news outlet the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/infra.economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/ports-shipping\/vedanta-and-abu-dhabi-ports-file-initial-bids-for-rs7056-crore-container-terminal-at-voc-port\/111452091\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Economic Times<\/a> reports, citing people it says have knowledge of the matter. DP World is unlikely to proceed past the initial bid stage due to security concerns regarding its operation of a container terminal at Pakistan\u2019s Karachi Port and its business ties with Cosco Shipping in, the sources told ET. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><\/strong><strong><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a>#2- Gulf Data Hub mulls offloading a minority stake:<\/strong> UAE-based data center operator <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gulfdatahub.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Gulf<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gulfdatahub.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Data Hub<\/a> tapped JP Morgan Chase as an adviser for a potential sale of a minority stake to investors, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-07-03\/data-center-firm-in-the-uae-is-said-to-weigh-minority-stake-sale?sref=YX0aeoLL\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports, citing people it says are in the know. While the company has not reached a final decision yet on the timing or the value of the sale, it could be looking to bag as much as USD 1 bn and wrap it as early as 3Q 2024. Several global private equity firms have reportedly voiced their interest in the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><\/strong><strong><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a>#3- Adnoc and Saudi Aramco are reportedly <\/strong><strong>studying bids for Australian oil and gas firm Santos<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-07-03\/aramco-adnoc-are-said-to-consider-bids-for-gas-producer-santos?srnd=homepage-middle-east\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports, citing sources it says are in the know. The company has a market value of some USD 16.7 bn, and has liquefied natural gas projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Adnoc has been expanding its investments abroad: <\/strong>The energy giant <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/338dd02a-506c-4dc0-b525-18a065a6f7fa\/adnoc-acquires-10%2525-of-mozambique-lng-project\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired<\/a> a 10% stake in a concession Mozambique's Rovuma basin, and an 11.7% stake in the first phase of sustainable liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer NextDecade's USD 18 bn Rio Grande LNG export facility in Texas. It is also now in formal <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/uae\/en\/news\/story\/0baa8498-7476-44fd-b102-ca389dc06758\/adnoc-%2B%253cmark%253e-covestro%253c%2Fmark%253e-kick-off-negotiations-after-revised-takeover-bid\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">discussions<\/a> for a potential takeover of German chemical company Covestro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#4- Egypt\u2019s Act Financial plans to use the EGP 1 bn raised from its IPO to invest into three <\/strong><strong>EGX-listed companies this year<\/strong>, Managing Partner Mostafa Abdel Aziz told Enterprise. The investments will range from 5-30%, depending on the size of the company and Act Financial's plan for it. The company is also exploring potential investments in six non-listed local companies with the hopes of eventually listing them on the EGX, Abdel Aziz said, adding the company has met with over 100 non-listed companies so far. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Acquisitions could include logistics companies<\/strong>, Abdel Aziz told <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.mubasher.info\/news\/4309287\/Act-Financial-seeks-stakes-in-real-estate-logistics-companies-Managing-Partner\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mubasher<\/a> in a separate interview. The company is in the process of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/6a6ce846-5bb8-4638-ba08-f657afe1960e\/egypt-eu-investment-conference-round-%232\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">finalizing an IPO<\/a> on the Egyptian Exchange, where it has set its price at EGP 2.9 per share. Act Financial is expected to rake in EGP 1 bn in capital from its 360 mn share offering, representing 32% of its total shares. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#5- Amazon is working closely with UAE authorities to expedite its rollout of electric <\/strong><strong>vehicles for deliveries<\/strong>, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2024\/07\/03\/amazon-closely-co-ordinating-with-uae-authorities-to-use-ev-delivery-fleet\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">National<\/a> reports. They are also addressing challenges, such as the impact of extreme heat on battery performance with partners to ensure the successful implementation of their goal to use 100k EVs for last-mile deliveries globally by 2030. \u201cIn this region, because of the extreme heat, there is not yet a scalable, fully-proven commercial electric vehicle model. Right now that is a challenge because of the temperature and the batteries,\u201d Prashant Saran, director of operations at Amazon Turkey and MENA told the National. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The initiative has kicked off with pilot testing<\/strong>, though a launch timeline has not been set. \u201cWe are already working with delivery service partners who are using electric scooters to deliver in some of the dense areas,\u201d Amazon MENAT Operations Director Prashant Saran told the National. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#6- Saudi Arabia plans to begin manufacturing ships this year in a bid to transform the <\/strong><strong>kingdom into a leading logistics player<\/strong>, CEO of the country\u2019s National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) Suliman Almazroua told <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.asharqbusiness.com\/financing-and-investment\/47549\/%D8%B1%D8%A6%D9%8A%D8%B3-%D9%86%D8%AF%D9%84%D8%A8-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D8%B9%D9%88%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%AA%D8%B7%D9%85%D8%AD-%D9%84%D8%A8%D8%AF%D8%A1-%D8%AA%D8%B5%D9%86%D9%8A%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%81%D9%86-%D9%87%D8%B0%D8%A7-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%85\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Asharq Business<\/a>. Shipyards will begin to be set up in the Ras Al Khair region this year with the involvement of Hyundai, Bahri, and Aramco, Almazroua said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#7- Egypt has received two out of 21 planned natural gas shipments to combat power <\/strong><strong>cuts<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/english.ahram.org.eg\/NewsContentP\/3\/526411\/Business\/Egypt-receives--gas-shipments-out-of--contracted-c.aspx\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Ahram Online<\/a> reports, citing comments by Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Spokesman Hamdy Abdel-Aziz. One ship carrying liquefied natural gas arrived in Ain Sokhna port on Monday and another\u2019s natural gas shipment has been offloaded on a gasification vessel before integration into the national grid, according to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/lngprime.com\/africa\/hoeghs-egypt-fsru-gets-first-lng-cargo\/116190\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">LNG Prime<\/a>. As more gas shipments arrive, the government will begin easing constraints it has placed on gas supplies to fertilizer companies, according to Abdel-Aziz. The government has also said that it aims to end nation-wide power outages by the third week of July. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>REMEMBER- <\/strong>Egypt needs to import some USD 1.18 bn worth of mazut fuel oil and natural gas to end ongoing daily power cuts, its Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/41a69797-4ca7-4765-93c5-be8670a0e1bb\/today:-port-news-from-morocco-%2B-dubai-investments-ventures-into-angola\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">last month<\/a>. Egyptian state-owned gas firm EGAS is reportedly looking to acquire seven shipments of LNG cargoes in July, six more in August, and four more in September. The country briefly extended power outages for a week last month due to a gas field in a \u201cneighboring country\u201d being offline for a 12-hour period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">MARKET WATCH- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#1- Oil prices dipped slightly in early trading as US employment and business activity data <\/strong><strong>showed signs of the economy cooling<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/commodities\/oil-prices-slip-after-data-points-cooling-us-economy-2024-07-04\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reports. Brent crude futures traded at USD 87.04 per barrel at 00.30 PM GMT, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures traded at USD 83.56 per barrel, says the newswire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- <\/strong><strong>Baltic index has seen an upwards<\/strong> <strong>tick<\/strong> for the fifth day straight on the back of solid capesize demand, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellenicshippingnews.com\/baltic-index-rises-for-fifth-straight-day-on-strong-capesize-demand\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reports. The Baltic Exchange\u2019s dry bulk sea freight index \u2014 which tracks rates for the capesize, panamax, and supramax vessel segments \u2013 was up 1% to 2,179 points. Capesize rose 2.6% to 3,888, while the panamax dipped 1.3% to 1,640 points. The smaller supramax segment fell 18 points to 1,351.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3- Global f<\/strong><strong>leet capacity is up amid <\/strong><strong>the Red Sea shipping disruptions<\/strong>, a Maritime Strategies International 2Q <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/theloadstar.com\/red-sea-crisis-dictates-container-fleet-capacity-trends\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> found. Around 1.7 mn TEU of new containership capacity has left shipyards since the end of November.
