The <\/strong>US <\/strong>Federal Aviation Administration<\/a><\/strong> (FAA)<\/strong> has dispatched 20+ inspectors to <\/strong>Boeing<\/strong>\u2019s 737 Max <\/strong>factory to assess the company\u2019s quality control system<\/strong>, FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker told CNBC<\/a>. At present, the FAA is visually inspecting the aircraft as it comes through which can take four to eight hours per plane, Whitaker added. Boeing plans to stop work at several production lines to conduct safety sessions for factory workers. <\/p>\n

REMEMBER:<\/strong> Boeing has been struggling<\/a> with supplier issues which resulted in defects in two of its major aircraft classes \u2014 the 737 Max and the 787 Dreamliner \u2014 as well as delivery delays. The company is facing mounting scrutiny after a panel flew off mid-flight<\/a> on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 plane earlier this month. Subsequent investigations by the airline revealed manufacturing flaws in its Boeing 737 MAX 9 fleet. <\/p>\n

Malaysia has broken ground on the MYR 15 mn (USD 3.2 bn) <\/strong>Kuala Linggi International<\/a><\/strong>Port<\/a><\/strong> (KLIP) which is set to be complete within 3.5 years<\/strong>, according to a statement<\/a> released earlier this week. The port is situated strategically along the Malacca strait which links it to the Middle East, Asia, and Europe and will hold a shipyard, hard standing cargo handling area, warehousing facilities, tank storage, a heavy industry fabrication yard, and wharfs, according to the statement. The port will also cater to tank storage in handling liquid bulk cargoes, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and Natural Gas (LNG), and will have dedicated ship maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) areas. <\/p>\n

DP has interests in <\/strong>Malaysia<\/strong>:<\/strong> DP World was looking to lease another one of Malaysia\u2019s ports, Sapangar Bay Container Port in Sabah, for management back in December<\/a>. There were also talks of a possible acquisition by the Emirati operator of a stake in Sabah Ports, which is currently undergoing a MYR 1 bn revamp to be completed in 2025. <\/p>\n
