Cargo thefts<\/strong> in the US rose over 57% y-o-y<\/strong> in 2023 with nearly <\/strong>USD 130 mn<\/strong> worth of <\/strong>goods stolen<\/strong>, CNBC<\/a> reported earlier this week, citing data<\/a> from risk analyst CargoNet<\/a>. The rate is also accelerating, with the first 20 weeks of 2023 seeing a 41% boost compared to the previous 20 weeks, Uber Freight<\/a> CEO Lior Ron said. The uptick in incidents is due to cargo thefts being extremely low risks and very high rewards, founder and CEO of supply chain solution company Overhaul<\/a> Barry Conlon added.
