Qatar\u2019s Civil Aviation Authority has been busy<\/strong>: <\/strong>Qatar has inked several MoUs at the 2023 International Conference on Air Service Negotiations (ICAN) in Riyadh. The agreements were signed by QCAA manager Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri. The country signed agreements with Antigua and Barbuda<\/a> to operate unlimited passenger and cargo flights; Ghana<\/a> and Chad<\/a> to expand transport rights and introduce open skies air services for passenger and cargo flights; Togo<\/a> to expand air service cooperation; and Seychelles<\/a>, Brazil<\/a> and South Africa<\/a> to increase the operation of passenger flights.<\/p>\n

ALSO- Qatar and Saudi Arabia held talks on expanding cooperation in civil aviation<\/strong>, including enhancing air transport rights and expanding flight networks between the two countries, QNA<\/a> reports. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all:<\/strong> Qatar also held talks with Bangladesh<\/a>, Hong Kong<\/a>,and Kenya, Turkey, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and Uruguay<\/a> to boost air transport cooperation.<\/p>\n

Kuwait and Nigeria have also inked a bilateral air services agreement<\/strong>, BNN<\/a> reports. The agreement should pave the way for direct passenger and cargo flights between the two countries, Concise<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Iran and Armenia plan to construct a new bridge over <\/strong>Armenia\u2019s Aras River<\/strong>, Azerbaijani press agency APA<\/a> reports. Aras\u2019 existing bridge does not have the capacity for increased freight traffic, and there are considerations to construct a new bridge alongside the existing one, an Armenian official said. Work on the new bridge is expected to kick off at the start of February next year, coinciding with construction of a section of the INSTC logistics corridor, the official added. <\/p>\n

Iranian and Indian diplomats in Armenia have also lobbied for the country to assume a role in the <\/strong>International North-South Transport Corridor (INTSC)<\/a><\/strong>, with a route connecting India to Iran\u2019s Chabahar port, before continuing north to Armenia and onwards to the Black Sea, Mehr<\/a> reported. The new route is slated to boost trade with Europe. <\/p>\n
