The move looks to \u201cde-risk\u201d Maersk's low-emission operations into the next decade and represents the first agreement of its type for the global shipping industry, the statement adds. The offtake agreement's scale and price \u201cconfirm our view that green methanol currently is the most viable low-emission solution for ocean shipping,\u201d Maersk Chief Infrastructure Officer Rabab Raafat Boulos said. Maersk's statement did not disclose the transaction's value. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>First deliveries are slated for 2026:<\/strong> The record volumes of green methanol will power the first 12 methanol-powered vessels Maersk expects to receive, representing more than half of the carrier's methanol-enabled order book, the statement explained.
