Sequoia began operations in the company\u2019s fulfillment center in Houston, Texas, and it is expected to speed up the process of identifying and storing inventory by 75% and lower the time taken to process orders by 25%, strengthening shipping predictability and boosting the number of products shipped for same-day or next-day delivery. It is also expected to shorten delivery times, increase the accuracy of delivery estimates, and enhance employee safety, the press release said. The company will also test Agility Robotics\u2019 bipedal robot, Digit, for use in Amazon operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>More automation to come:<\/strong>Amazon is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aboutamazon.com\/news\/operations\/amazon-prime-air-drone-delivery-updates\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">also looking<\/a> to introduce an ultra-fast drone delivery system, dubbed Prime Air, in Italy, the UK, and an additional US city by the end of 2024. Prime Air is introducing the new MK30 drone design, which is smaller and quieter than previous models. The drone will be introduced at fulfillment centers in Italy and the UK.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ALSO WORTH KNOWING-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>US-based digital <strong>freight startup Convoy<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>which is <strong>b<\/strong>acked by Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, is <strong>suspending its operations<\/strong>due to <strong>falling freight demand<\/strong> over the past year, and is looking into possible alternatives like <strong>selling its technology<\/strong>.
