The move also looks to establish Abu Dhabi as a SAVI hub, with applications for air, land, and sea mobility, WAM said. The project is spearheaded by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/added.gov.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED)<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.investinabudhabi.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO)<\/a>, WAM said. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Three companies are already moving to the cluster: <\/strong>China-based autonomous driving outfit <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weride.ai\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">WeRide<\/a> said it will establish its regional headquarters at SAVI, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303209417\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">WAM<\/a> reported. Meanwhile, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/marakeb.tech\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Marakeb Technologies<\/a> will be the first maritime company to move into SAVI where it is expected to give immediate impetus to the cluster\u2019s maritime activities, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303209403\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">WAM<\/a> reported. California-based <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jobyaviation.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Joby Aviation<\/a>, a leading air taxi company, has also revealed plans to establish its footprint in SAVI, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zawya.com\/en\/press-release\/government-news\/abu-dhabis-smart-and-autonomous-vehicles-industry-cluster-welcomes-worlds-leading-air-taxi-company-c0naiix0\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The cluster will have test sites: <\/strong>ADIO will collaborate with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tip.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Tawazun Industrial Park<\/a> (TIP), real estate and investment management firm <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/miral.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Miral<\/a>, and AD Ports Group subsidiary <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.maqta.ae\/en\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Maqta Gateway<\/a> to provide dedicated test zones for companies developing SAVI applications, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303209370\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">WAM<\/a> reported separately. TIP\u2019s Nibras Aerospace Park in Al Ain will provide runways for testing air mobility concepts, while Yas Island will offer a road mobility test bed, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adports.ae\/ports-terminals\/commercial-ports\/musaffah-port\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mussafah Port<\/a> will provide facilities for maritime tests. An electronics center at TIP, an aluminum and steel cluster at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kezadgroup.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">KEZAD<\/a>, and an automotive cluster run by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kezadgroup.com\/our-offerings\/kezad-group-brings-you-rahayel\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Rahayel<\/a> in the Mussafah Industrial Zone will also provide additional resources for tests, WAM explained. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The infrastructure will be backed by a regulatory framework: <\/strong>ADIO, ADDED, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gcaa.gov.ae\/en\/Pages\/Home.aspx\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)<\/a>, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itc.gov.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Integrated Transport Centre (ITC)<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.admaritime.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Abu Dhabi Maritime<\/a> will work to put together a \u201cone-stop-shop\u201d regulatory service that will streamline certification, licensing, authorizations and Intellectual property (IP) management for all SAVI applications across air, land, and sea, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/details\/1395303209394\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">WAM<\/a> reported separately. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why Masdar City?<\/strong> Companies relocating to the cluster will have access to expansive workshops and hangars, ready-built and modular manufacturing spaces, and access to a broad-based logistics network, WAM reported. Masdar also provides incubation services that include funding and marketing support, in addition to offices, and co-working spaces for startups. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>This is big: <\/strong>\u201cSAVI is a game changer,\u201d ADDED Chairman Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi said in statements cited by WAM. The move will unlock new opportunities for investors and is expected to contribute AED 90-120 bn to the national economy while creating 30-50k jobs, with knock-on effects on various sectors, he added. SAVI will also work with universities in the UAE to drive research and innovation in the high tech industry, with ADIO inking partnerships with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mbzuai.ac.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI)<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tii.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology Innovation Institute (TII)<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ku.ac.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Khalifa University<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/hub71.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Hub71<\/a> to that effect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The move opened the floodgates for autonomous mobility partnerships:<\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epg.ae\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Emirates Post Group (EPG)<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dronamics.com\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Dronamics<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dronamics.com\/post\/emirates-post-group-signs-loi-with-dronamics-to-explore-prospects-for-implementing-same-day-cargo-dr\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">inked<\/a> a letter of Intent (LOI) at SAVI\u2019s official launch, to work towards establishing a cargo drone delivery network in the UAE and GCC.
