<\/span>Unilever<\/a><\/span> Arabia is the first company to roll out an EV as part of its last-mile <\/span>delivery fleet in the UAE<\/span>, according to a <\/span>press release<\/a><\/span>. The initiative comes as a partnership with <\/span>Majid Al Futtaim Group\u2019s<\/a><\/span> retailer<\/span>Carrefour<\/a><\/span> and will see the battery-powered one-ton van deliver Unilever\u2019s products to Carrefour outlets in Dubai. The preparation for the EV\u2019s introduction was completed in collaboration with EV distributor <\/span>Emirates Global Motors Electric<\/a><\/span> and global supply chain and logistics solutions provider <\/span>DB Schenker<\/a><\/span>. The effort comes as part of a drive \u201cto achieve the UAE\u2019s Net Zero 2050 strategy,\u201d UAE Country Manager for Carrefour Bertrand Loumaye said.<\/span><\/p>\n

KSA-based shipping outfit <\/span>AJEX Logistics Services<\/a><\/span> has launched same-day <\/span>delivery and reverse pick-up services in Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah<\/span>, according to a <\/span>press release<\/a><\/span>. The new services will facilitate \u201cfaster deliveries and [zero-hassle], efficient returns,\u201d and support KSA\u2019s booming e-commerce sector, which is projected to exceed USD 20 bn by 2027, the press release said. <\/span><\/p>\n

AFC + Morocco ink an agreement for infrastructure developments + transport <\/span>projects: <\/span>Infrastructure solutions provider <\/span>Africa Finance Corporation<\/a><\/span> (AFC) has signed an MoU with Morocco\u2019s Economy and Finance Ministry to provide project development, structuring, and financing solutions for projects in the transport, heavy industries, renewables, natural resources, and telecommunications sectors, according to a <\/span>statement<\/a><\/span>. The MoU aims to enhance Morocco's industrial base and infrastructure to increase the country\u2019s export capacity and market competition, the statement said. <\/span><\/p>\n

AFC is active in Morocco\u2019s logistics sector: <\/span>The lender is already in discussions with Morocco's Transport and Logistics Ministry, the National Railway Operator, and Airport Authority<\/span>to work on projects like the revamp and upgrades of railway infrastructure to improve the country\u2019s cargo and passenger mobility between its towns and the capital, and to ease road congestion, according to the statement. AFC\u2019s investments aim to \u201cdrive rapid progress in manufacturing, and import substitution,\u201d CEO and President of AFC Samaila Zubairu said in the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n
