Another vertiport terminal located next to Dubai International Airport \u2014 the first of <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/skyports.net\/skyports-infrastructures-design-for-vertiports-approved-in-dubai\/\" style=\"\">four<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> planned for Dubai \u2014 will also be operational by 2026, as part of an electric vertical take-off and landing infrastructure (eVTOL) network that will connect Dubai\u2019s transportation hubs by providing high speed, zero-emission travel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">It\u2019s also establishing itself as a site for testing:<\/span><span> Vports <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/140b7b8e-b60a-4c0c-b446-77212cee78e4\" style=\"\">signed in December<\/a><\/span><span> a 25-year lease agreement with the UAE\u2019s General Civil Aviation Authority and the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub to build a eVTOL flight testing site, which Japan\u2019s SkyDrive will be <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/climate\/en\/news\/story\/dbfcdd2b-be4c-4356-a707-05b8f99d5d4e\" style=\"\">testing its eVTOLs<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> at. The country also granted US logistics firm United Portal Services a temporary flight permit to conduct flight tests to trial its eVTOL fleet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700;\">IN OTHER AVIATION NEWS-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways aims to double its fleet to 150 planes by decade\u2019s end<\/span><span style=\"\">,<\/span><span style=\"\">Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves told<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/etihad-airways-plans-triple-passengers-double-fleet-amid-strategy-shift-2023-04-27\/\" style=\"\">Reuters<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. This is part of a shift that will see the company move away from ultra long-haul flights and instead focus on growing its medium and long-haul destinations, with India being a priority, Neves said. The airline currently serves Delhi and Mumbai, and has plans to add six other cities.
