Details about the terms of the financing have not been disclosed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">European bank financing in the pipeline:<\/span><span> Egypt\u2019s cabinet <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/49e94fca-e544-45f3-90bd-06a9a43cb6c2\" style=\"\">said last week<\/a><\/span><span> that it had approved international funding from European banks for the high-speed rail link, without giving further info. The entire project is set to cost some <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/e2356273-f17c-4a5b-a987-663aab9a2e29\" style=\"\">USD 23 bn<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">High-speed rail:<\/span><span> Siemens Mobility, Orascom Construction, and Arab Contractors <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7edfc1a2-6bda-4dbd-8444-2c67c47ecf4f\" style=\"\">have signed contracts<\/a><\/span><span> with the Egyptian government to build the country\u2019s new 2k-km high-speed rail line. The first phase will link Ain Sokhna to Marsa Matrouh, while additional lines will join Cairo to Hurghada as well as to Abu Simbel near the country\u2019s southern border. Deutsche Bahn and El Sewedy Electric are on board to operate the first line under a <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/3364fd70-a5ed-4f71-b28c-96ddec2f6172\" style=\"\">EUR 1 bn+ contract signed last year<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. The project, according to government officials, is set to be the sixth-longest rail network in the world, connecting 60 Egyptian cities with trains running at up to 230 km\/h.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
