Hormuz and Red Sea tensions are beginning to throw just-in-time supply chains off balance \u2014 especially for vehicles and electronics that make up a bulk of GCC exports from at-risk ports. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Plus: <\/strong>Dubai Aerospace Enterprise is beefing up its firepower with USD 2.8 bn in new credit lines \u2014 doubling down on growth as the aviation cycle gathers pace. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Watch this space<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a>  <\/strong><strong>M&A<\/strong><strong> \u2014 Aramco is reportedly moving forward with the sale of a stake in its oil export <\/strong><strong>and storage terminals<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-03-23\/saudi-arabia-and-kuwait-seek-to-advance-energy-deals-despite-war\" style=\"\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports, citing people it says are familiar with the matter. Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk confirmed that shipments forced to return without being unloaded \u2014 or those that never left territorial waters \u2014 will now be treated as \u201cincomplete exports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The technical fix:<\/strong> These returned shipments are being reclassified as national goods that never officially left the country. Exporters are now exempt from the Advanced Cargo Information system for these goods, as they no longer carry foreign import status. The Customs Authority is also allowing these shipments to return to their original ports of entry and is canceling the impact of previously registered export data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The fine print:<\/strong> These facilities apply to shipments returning within two months of their original export date. Clearing these returned shipments is now a top priority to reduce the financial burden on the private sector, Customs Authority head Ahmed Amwi said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a> <\/strong><strong>MARITIME<\/strong><strong> \u2014 China joins Iran pay-to-pass route:<\/strong> A Chinese-owned feeder container vessel has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lloydslist.com\/LL1156689\/Chinese-boxship-pays-Iran-for-Hormuz-passage-as-corridor-traffic-grows\" style=\"\">paid<\/a> to pass through Iran\u2019s Larak Island corridor in Hormuz \u2014 marking the first confirmed mainland Chinese boxship to use Tehran\u2019s new pay-to-pass system. The transit was arranged via a Chinese maritime intermediary, with over 20 other vessels now using the corridor under case-by-case approvals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Access to Hormuz is conditional \u2014 and now monetized: <\/strong>Tehran is moving toward <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2026\/03\/24\/could-irans-total-hormuz-blockade-give-way-to-selective-gatekeeping\/\" style=\"\">selective<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2026\/03\/24\/could-irans-total-hormuz-blockade-give-way-to-selective-gatekeeping\/\" style=\"\">gatekeeping<\/a> \u2014 deciding which vessels and countries sail through, while forcing traffic closer to its coast and around Larak Island as conventional navigation conditions deteriorate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>However, Iran <\/strong><strong>says <\/strong><strong>Hormuz is open:<\/strong> Tehran <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/71c3295a-531a-4fa8-86bc-964b5bb821e2\" style=\"\">said<\/a> that \u201cnon-hostile vessels\u201d may transit the Strait of Hormuz \u201cin coordination with Iranian authorities,\u201d in a letter to International Maritime Organization members. That said, some 3.2k vessels remain stuck in the Arabian Gulf, seemingly unwilling to brave the waterway yet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Market watch<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Oil prices fell nearly 4% this morning on ceasefire hopes after a US proposal to Iran to <\/strong><strong>ease supply disruptions<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/us-oil-prices-fall-prospect-middle-east-ceasefire-easing-supply-disruption-2026-03-24\/\" style=\"\">Reuters<\/a> reports. Brent crude futures declined USD 4.89 to USD 99.60 \/ bbl by 03.55 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) slipped USD 3.54 to USD 88.81 \/ bbl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The<\/strong><strong> Baltic Index is on a downward spiral: <\/strong>The Baltic Exchange\u2019s dry bulk index \u2014 which tracks rates for the capesize, panamax, and supramax vessel segments \u2014 <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tradingeconomics.com\/commodity\/baltic\" style=\"\">was down 2.4%<\/a> to 1,989 points on Tuesday. The capesize decreased 3.2% to 2,844 points, while the panamax index declined 2.6% to 1,839.
