The move will see the Moroccan giant modernize and operate the country\u2019s main port, in a boost for Morocco\u2019s West Africa strategy and Liberia\u2019s push to improve the competitiveness of its ports. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Plus: <\/strong>Earnings season is in full swing \u2014 and so far, it largely showcases a solid FY 2025 for regional logistics players, with some exceptions. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Watch this space<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a>  DATA <\/strong><strong>CENTERS<\/strong><strong> \u2014 The G42-owned operator launched Khazna NexOps<\/strong>, a centralized, in-house operations unit that consolidates core data center management and integrates AI-driven monitoring, predictive maintenance, and climate intelligence, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2026\/2\/588.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement (pdf)<\/a>. The unit \u2014 marking a shift away from vendor-led operations toward a standardized internal model \u2014 has a team of over 230 specialists and oversees more than 30 live sites.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Expansion is the backdrop: <\/strong>Khazna is targeting more than 1 GW of additional AI-ready capacity by 2030, pushing beyond the UAE with up to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/issues\/cma-cgm-to-reroute-its-indamex-service-back-through-red-sea-after-two-year-hiatus\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">200 MW<\/a> planned in Saudi Arabia, a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2025\/07\/14\/khaznas-data-center-and-ai-moves-get-a-leg-up\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">500 MW<\/a> project in Italy with Eni, and new sites in <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2024\/10\/16\/khazna-to-build-the-uaes-largest-data-center\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Egypt<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2025\/05\/01\/khazna-to-build-100-mw-data-center-in-turkey-as-part-of-regional-expansion-drive\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Turkey<\/a>, while doubling down at home, as we previously reported.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Domestically<\/strong>, <strong>Khazna controls 71% of existing UAE data center capacity<\/strong> and is investing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2025\/10\/15\/data-center-capacity-to-nearly-triple-in-the-next-three-years-emirates-nbd\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">USD 1.3 bn in five new facilities<\/a>, adding 210 MW in capacity. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<hr style=\"height:2px;border-width:0;color:gray;background-color:gray\">\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a>  <strong>TRADE \u2014<\/strong> <strong>Syria is upping its gas imports with more <\/strong><strong>Turkish-sourced flows<\/strong>, in a move that signals further long-term infrastructure integration between the two sides. Egypt also pumps some 50 mmcf\/d of gas to the country. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why it matters? <\/strong>More gas inflows are not only important for stabilizing Syria\u2019s post-war grid \u2014 they are critical for rebuilding the country\u2019s industrial base. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Data point<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a> <strong>53<\/strong><strong>.0 \u2014 that\u2019s the seasonally adjusted Purchasing Managers\u2019 Index figure for Kuwai<\/strong><strong>t in January<\/strong>, according to the S&P Global Kuwait PMI <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2026\/2\/231.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">(pdf)<\/a>. The reading indicates a solid monthly improvement in the health of the non-oil private sector, comfortably above the 50.0 no-change mark but down from December\u2019s reading of 54.0, with a 17-month record of robust business conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The breakdown: <\/strong>Output and new orders continued to rise at a robust clip, though momentum eased from the levels seen at the end of last year. The expansion was largely fueled by competitive pricing and vigorous marketing efforts, while rising new export orders also supported growth as companies obtained business in neighboring markets. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Meanwhile, firms built up stocks amid elevated purchasing activity and shorter delivery times.<\/strong> Input cost inflation remained high, driven by expenses such as raw materials and rent, yet output prices rose only modestly as businesses prioritized competitive pricing.
