The flows are routed directly into electricity generation as part of a fast-track fix for a strained grid. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The origin of the supply is murky \u2014 but we know Egypt is likely part of the mix. <\/strong>Egypt already started moving some 50 mn cubic feet per day (mcf \/ d) (c. 1.4 mn cbm \/ d) of gas to Lebanon and the same to Syria via the Arab Gas Pipeline, using LNG imports and floating regasification capacity, a government source tells us, confirming news carried by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/asharqbusiness.com\/power\/114204\/%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D8%A8%D8%AF%D8%A3-%D8%AA%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%AF-50-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%82%D8%AF%D9%85-%D8%BA%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%A7-%D8%A5%D9%84%D9%89-%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%86-%D8%B9%D8%A8%D8%B1-%D8%B3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A7\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Asharq Business<\/a>. Qatari gas my also be part of the mix as part of a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/logistics\/2025\/03\/17\/qatar-to-throw-gas-lifeline-to-syria-via-jordan-with-us-backing\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">March agreement<\/a> to provide Syria with around 2 mn cbm \/d of gas routed through Jordan. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>PLUS-<\/strong> The volumes supplied through Egypt would likely come from a blend of sources, Ross Cassidy VP of Mena Research at Welligence Energy Analytics tells us. Egypt\u2019s natural gas imports are diversified \u2014 QatarEnergy, Shell, and TotalEnergies are among suppliers of LNG, and Cairo also receives pipeline gas from Israel \u2014 so any volumes sold to Syria would likely be an amalgamation of those streams. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>That was fast: <\/strong>Agreements to move gas to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2025\/12\/30\/our-lng-supplies-will-soon-feed-lebanons-power-grid\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Lebanon<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2026\/01\/06\/our-east-med-energy-hub-play-gets-another-shot-in-the-arm\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Syria<\/a> via Jordan, using Aqaba\u2019s regasification unit, were signed only within the past two weeks. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">Why it matters<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The setup is also a big part of the story:<\/strong> Egypt is receiving LNG cargoes on behalf of the two nations, regasifying it via the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterpriseam.com\/egypt\/2025\/08\/13\/a-fresh-green-bond-issuance-could-be-upon-us\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Energos Force<\/a> floating storage and regasification unit, currently docked at Jordan\u2019s Aqaba Port, and pushing it north. Egypt already received one shipment last week and will be getting a second 3.5 bcf (c. 99 mn cbm) shipment by the end of the month, our source said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>For Syria, the quick flow of gas is critical for reconstruction, <\/strong>as the country works to ramp up and stabilize electricity generation.
