It\u2019s good for business, good for households, good for the wider economy \u2014 and could help boost export receipts, too. The JV will start operations as an asset-light freight forwarder \u2014 holding the exclusive right to manage all freight and logistics operations for subsidiaries under Avesto Group\u2019s umbrella. The venture plans to deliver its first facilities by 1Q 2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The market context:<\/strong> The Kingdom\u2019s warehouses closed in on 100% occupancy rates in 1H 2025, driven by steady e-commerce growth, boosted investments, and government initiatives, according to data from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.knightfrank.ae\/newsroom\/article\/2025\/10\/ksa-industrial--logistics-review-autumn-2025\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Knight Frank<\/a>. Riyadh recorded a 16% y-o-y hike in warehouse rents, averaging SAR 208 per sqm during the same period. rel=\"noopener\">launching a mandatory tender offer<\/a> for EGX-listed ALCN, a move that would give the Abu Dhabi ports operator direct majority control of one of Egypt\u2019s largest container terminal operators.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What it really means:<\/strong> AD Ports kinda-sorta already has control of the company \u2014 the MTO is just making it official. AD Ports <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/0e068cb1-c27d-4b58-a86d-d1301fff60ee\/adq-secures-indirect-majority-control-of-alexandria-container-&-cargo-handling-company\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">bought a 19.3% stake in ALCN last month<\/a> from the PIF\u2019s Saudi Egyptian Investment Company. Alpha Oryx, a sister company of AD Ports under their shared parent ADQ, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/b4a11664-2159-45ba-ba2f-bf0d3dfd3978\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">owns 32%<\/a>. That effectively means Abu Dhabi\u2019s premier sovereign wealth fund already controls ALCN through two vehicles.
