The session is set to see the intergovernmental body formally adopt its Net-Zero Framework \u2014 rolling out new fuel standards for ships and a global pricing mechanism for emissions. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;line-height:1.15;margin-right:-9pt;margin-left:0;margin-top:0;orphans:2;margin-bottom:0;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Why this matters: <\/strong>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/mediacentre\/pressbriefings\/pages\/imo-approves-netzero-regulations.aspx\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Net-Zero Framework<\/a> will roll out mandatory emissions limits and greenhouse gas pricing across the entire shipping sector, including large ocean-going ships over 5k gross tonnage that account for 85% of international shipping\u2019s emissions.
