Let\u2019s dive right in. <\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">WATCH THIS SPACE-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a> #1-<\/strong> <strong>Libya<\/strong> <strong>is slated to wrap up its USD 1.3 bn <\/strong><strong>modernization<\/strong><strong> project of <\/strong><strong>Benghazi International <\/strong><strong>Airport <\/strong><strong>in 2026<\/strong>, Libyan newspaper <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/libyareview.com\/56205\/benghazi-airport-to-open-in-2026\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Libya Review<\/a> reported last week. The project \u2014 managed by Libya\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nda.gov.ly\/en\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">National Development Agency (NDA)<\/a> and developed by UAE-based firm Global Builders \u2014 has been undergoing construction for the past five months, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/libyaherald.com\/2025\/06\/construction-work-progressing-at-benghazis-new-tika-airport\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Libya Herald<\/a> reported on Monday. No exact date for the start of operations was disclosed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>About the project: <\/strong>The modernization project \u2014 covering the 24-sq-km Benghazi International Airport project \u2014 features a 3.8km runway suitable for large aircraft and a cargo terminal, and boasts a 15 mn passenger handling capacity per year, according to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nda.ly\/en\/projects\/#\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">NDA<\/a>. The airport has 12 aircraft gates, a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/libyaherald.com\/2025\/06\/construction-work-progressing-at-benghazis-new-tika-airport\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">129k sqm transit building<\/a>, as well as an air cargo services station.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a>#2- The US has opened an official anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation into <\/strong><strong>imports of Egyptian rebar<\/strong>, alongside similar probes into exports from Algeria, Vietnam, and Bulgaria, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2025\/6\/596.pdf\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">notice (pdf)<\/a> issued by the US International Trade Commission. The move follows a complaint from six major American steel producers who allege that these countries are dumping rebar in the US market at unfair prices and benefiting from state subsidies that violate US TRADE LAWS<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The commission is required to issue a preliminary determination by 21 July<\/strong> on whether Egyptian and other targeted rebar exports have materially harmed or threatened US industry. If the ruling finds merit to the claims, the US could impose anti-dumping duties and additional tariffs on rebar imports from Egypt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The US investigation is part of a broader trend of increasing trade protectionism that has <\/strong><strong>already hit Egyptian industries<\/strong> \u2014 particularly steel and petrochemicals. Earlier this year, the Trump administration <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/9a636db2-9fe8-4fe3-b073-40c5ece072fe\/steel-industry-starts-to-feel-the-pinch-of-us,-eu-steel-tariffs\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">imposed a 25% blanket tariff<\/a> on all steel imports, while the EU slapped a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/e178c858-c767-4401-81db-5e4124c85181\/could-we-finally-resume-lng-exports-from-liquefaction-plants%3F\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">15.6% temporary tariff<\/a> on Egyptian hot rolled coil, pending a final decision in October. Morocco also recently imposed a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/5f388a38-4bc5-48c5-97c1-61497c8c98b2\/morocco-slaps-temporary-anti-%253cmark%253edumping%253c%2Fmark%253e-duties-on-egyptian-pvc-imports\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">temporary anti-dumping duty of up to 92.2%<\/a> on Egyptian PVC imports earlier this week, citing similar dumping concerns. Moroccan authorities have also opened probes into galvanized wire from Egypt and maintain duties on several other products, including carpets and canned tomatoes. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a> #3-<\/strong> <strong>Morocco <\/strong><strong>close to placing Boeing, Airbus orders: <\/strong>Moroccan flag carrier Royal Air Maroc is close to finalizing an order of about two dozen Boeing 787 Dreamliners for long-haul destinations and up to 50 Boeing 737s for short-haul routes, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-06-11\/royal-air-maroc-set-to-place-major-boeing-airbus-aircraft-order\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports, citing unnamed sources.
