The investigation \u2014 which will also look into lumber\u2019s derivatives like furniture and kitchen cabinets \u2014 will take 270 days to finish. No timeline for the investigation\u2019s start and end has been disclosed. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>By the numbers: <\/strong>In 2022, Canada, China, Brazil, Mexico, and Germany were the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wits.worldbank.org\/CountryProfile\/en\/Country\/USA\/Year\/LTST\/TradeFlow\/Import\/Partner\/by-country\/Product\/44-49_Wood\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">US\u2019 top<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wits.worldbank.org\/CountryProfile\/en\/Country\/USA\/Year\/LTST\/TradeFlow\/Import\/Partner\/by-country\/Product\/44-49_Wood\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">lumber exporters<\/a>. The capesize surged by 245 points to 1,818, while the panamax index fell 29 points to 1,063. The smaller supramax index shed 8 points to 895.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#3-<\/strong> <strong>The Drewry World Container In<\/strong><strong>dex decreased 6% to USD 2,629 per 40-ft container on Thursda<\/strong><strong>y<\/strong>, according to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.drewry.co.uk\/supply-chain-advisors\/supply-chain-expertise\/world-container-index-assessed-by-drewry\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">latest index readings<\/a>. Spot rates for 40-ft containers are now 75% below the previous pandemic peak but remain 85% above the pre-pandemic rate of USD 1.4k.
