On a more positive note, around 94% of those surveyed believe it is highly unlikely that the harshest tariffs promised by US President Donald Trump on the campaign trail will be enacted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Background:<\/strong> The world has been <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/8ca2ba62-0842-49eb-a066-66c6e2b89e2e\/%253cmark%253etrump%253c%2Fmark%253e%25e2%2580%2599s-victory-to-send-ripples-across-global-supply-chains\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">gearing up<\/a> for Trump\u2019s potential trade war, which could see a 10 to 20% tariff on imports from all foreign countries and an additional 60-100% tariff on imports specifically from China.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>What the economists agree on: <\/strong>Most surveyed economists believe that the increasing trade restrictions would increase consumer prices and that the world would continue to see global trade shifting to services at the expense of goods.
