Let\u2019s jump right in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">WATCH THIS SPACE-<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a><\/strong><strong>Egypt-bound investments are on the horizon: <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbm.com.cn\/EN\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">China National Building Material Company<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbm.com.cn\/EN\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">(CNBM)<\/a> is interested in setting up a specialized 5 mn sqm industrial zone in Ain Sokhna, CNBM representatives <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid0n2JiyWq1SMyoJ1ugapMYkbb9e31aRqkWCmLz96BpYZtReNpdsWrTsJnkwiNj34Pql?rdid=yAktHc55S4kTbYQd\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) head Gamal Walid El Din yesterday. The proposed zone would focus on renewable energy industries \u2014 including wind turbine blades for electricity generation and solar energy systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>Egyptian <\/strong>Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/05328bc0-911a-4841-ba26-270379a90cfe\/el-sisi-makes-long-awaited-first-official-trip-to-turkey-as-president\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">is currently attending the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation<\/a> and will reportedly ink a number of MoUs and contracts related to \u2014 still as of yet unspecified \u2014 investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Egyptian telecommunications sector. The day before the forum kicked off, we got news that the country is extending a CNY 100 mn development grant \u2014 currently worth around EGP 681 mn or USD 14 mn \u2014 in order to implement a number of new joint projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt2\"><\/a><\/strong><strong>IN OTHER EGYPT NEWS- TotalEnergies has a plan to put Egypt\u2019s LNG facilities to good use: <\/strong>French energy company TotalEnergies wants to supply gas from its fields in Cyprus to Egypt for liquefaction and re-export as LNG or to be fed directly into the grid, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/pfbid0Rs6vfkdrKFH5xEbESgm1DUPfag3aULZxfzHXCP36iH819AKcNiH1kN5kknpemMXWl\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. The company is also evaluating investment offerings included in the government\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d8bf231d-63f1-43cd-bcdc-f2decb5f1d01\/government-reportedly-gearing-up-for-october-international-gas-exploration%253cmark%253e-tender%253c%2Fmark%253e.-plus:-fawry-to-launch-saudi-operations-in-2024,-ceramica-venezia-resumes-operations,-le-pacha-1901-to-offload-controlling-stake\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">new and gas exploration tender<\/a> that is currently being prepared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu?<\/strong> Earlier in the week, we heard an energy corridor connecting Egypt and Cyprus that would carry natural gas and renewable energy <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/195ade17-5823-4009-b234-6c816d712840\/today:-another-adani-m&a-%2B-the-gcc-europe-trade-route-has-a-timeline\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">was discussed<\/a> by Oil Minister Karim Badawi and his Cypriot counterpart Giorgos Papanastasiou. Like with TotalEnergies, the two sides discussed sending Cypriot natural gas to Egypt to be liquified and exported as LNG to global markets. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\">\n<p class=\"tag-border-left\">MARKET WATCH- <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong><a id=\"wwtt3\"><\/a>#1- <\/strong><strong>Oil prices inched up from multi-month lows after Opec+ sources <\/strong><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-09-04\/opec-discusses-possible-delay-to-oil-output-hike-delegates-say?srnd=homepage-middle-east&embedded-checkout=true\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed plans<\/a><\/strong> <strong> to <\/strong><strong>delay <\/strong><strong>a planned 180k bpd output hike<\/strong><strong> in Octobe<\/strong><strong>r and US stockpiles decreased<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/oil-steady-investors-weigh-weak-demand-potential-delay-opec-output-hike-2024-09-05\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reports. Brent crude futures for November gained USD 0.15 to USD 72.85 by 04.02 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures for October inched up USD 0.15 to USD 69.35 a barrel. Brent crude futures dropped 1.4% in the previous session to their lowest close since June 2023 and WTI shed 1.6% yesterday to the lowest price since December 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>#2- <\/strong><strong>Baltic index snaps gains:<\/strong> The Baltic Exchange\u2019s dry bulk sea freight index \u2014 which tracks rates for the capesize, panamax, and supramax vessel segments \u2014 dropped <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tradingeconomics.com\/commodity\/baltic\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">2.3% to 1,902 points on Wednesday<\/a>, breaking a two-day streak in gains. The capesize index dipped 3.7% to 3,224 points and the panamax index remained flat at 1,300 points.
