Registration certificates should also be returned if the ownership of a given vessel is transferred to a foreigner or a foreign entity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Operating an unregistered vessel flying an Egyptian flag is punishable<\/strong> by a prison sentence not exceeding three months and \/ or a fine ranging from EGP 100k to EGP 1 mn, with the ship potentially subject to confiscation. Operating a ship with an expired registration is punishable by up to one year imprisonment and \/ or a fine of EGP 50-500k.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The government must approve the construction plans and specifications of any <\/strong><strong>newly built marine vessel<\/strong>, with construction subject to government oversight. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>ON THE TRADE SIDE- <\/strong><strong>Egypt is reportedly seeking to increase its exports to EU countries by 10% y-o-y to EUR 12.5 bn by the end of 2024<\/strong>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alarabiya.net\/aswaq\/exclusive\/2024\/08\/12\/%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%A4%D9%88%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%87%D8%AF%D9%81-%D8%AC%D8%B0%D8%A8-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%AB%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%85%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B4%D8%B1%D8%A9-%D8%A3%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%AA%D8%AA%D8%AC%D8%A7%D9%88%D8%B2-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%8A-%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D9%81%D9%8A-2024\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Al Arabiya<\/a> reported, citing an unnamed government official.
