Cutting the number of personnel aboard and boosting automated processes would limit threats to human life in the event of an attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>And cutting down on carbon emissions:<\/strong> Using AI for sea navigation could reduce carbon emissions from the shipping industry by 47 mn tonnes per year, according to a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellenicshippingnews.com\/ai-tools-key-to-the-urgent-action-needed-to-meet-imo-climate-targets\/\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> by autonomous shipping startup Orca AI.
