The outbreak of the Gaza War late last year further inflamed tensions in the region, with Iran calling on Muslim countries to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/logistics\/en\/news\/story\/bfed71a9-a123-4ea1-a7df-824789fcd519\/today:-tropical-cyclone-hits-oman,-shuttering-salalah-port-%2B-could-israel-face-a-regional-oil-embargo%3F\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">impose an oil embargo<\/a> on Israel a few weeks into the conflict. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><strong>The Strait of Hormuz is a key passage: <\/strong>Bordered by Iran to the north and the UAE and Oman to the south, the strait handles some 30% of the global oil trade, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-04-17\/could-iran-impact-oil-trade-by-disrupting-shipping-in-the-strait-of-hormuz\" style=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported.
